Position Summary
The Zone Program Aide will support the Zone Program Coordinator in ensuring that the Zone After-School Program provides a positive and safe environment that fosters academic, creative, and athletic development. The Program Aide will assist with daily program activities, help facilitate snack service, and support the set-up and clean-up of program areas. Additionally, the Program Aide will provide transportation for participants during field trips and other scheduled outings.
Essential Functions
Assist the Zone Program Coordinator in delivering high-quality learning experiences. Provide academic support and structure to youth during program hours. Supervise and instruct youth to ensure compliance with program policies and to maintain a safe, healthy, and effective environment. Participate in the planning, leadership, and implementation of enrichment activities. Lead and manage large groups of youth effectively and independently. Guide and support volunteer tutors in the Zone After-School Program. Establish and maintain appropriate boundaries while fostering positive mentoring relationships with students. Maintain collaborative and professional relationships with staff, Salvation Army representatives, volunteers, parents, and children. Provide transportation for students during field trips, camp, and other outings as needed. Uphold and model all Zone After-School Program policies. Assist with daily set-up and clean-up of program activities. Observe and document student progress to better support individual children and families. Adhere to all Protect the Mission policies and reporting requirements. Support The Salvation Army’s Christian mission and philosophy. Immediately report any suspected child abuse to your immediate supervisor. Perform other duties as assigned.Working Conditions
Ability to walk, stand, bend squat climb, kneel and twist on an intermittent or sometimes continuous basis. Ability to be able to lift up to 50lbs. Ability to grasp, push, pull objects such as file cabinet drawers and reach overhead. Ability to operate computer, fax and telephone.
Minimum Qualifications
Must pass a criminal background check to be eligible for employment. Must be 21 years of age or older. Must hold a valid driver’s license, be able to drive program vehicles, and pass a motor vehicle records (MVR) check. Ability to maintain confidentiality regarding organizational and participant information. Demonstrated professionalism in interactions with participants, colleagues, and community contacts. Proficiency in using basic office computing systems and equipment.Skills, Knowledge & Abilities

Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team. Strong leadership, communication, and conflict resolution skills, with the flexibility to adapt to changing needs and situations.
