**What You’ll Be Doing**
As a z/OS Systems Analyst in the CE&T Mainframe Engineering team, you will work with the senior systems programmers & systems analyst’s to provide the day to day operational support of our enterprise mainframe systems platforms. You will play a key role in working with the extended mainframe engineering team to schedule and implement required hardware & software infrastructure changes in support our banking operations. This role works closely with : mainframe engineering teams, application operations and application development teams.
You will collaborate with and advise senior engineering leadership of ongoing product upgrades, features, maintenance schedules, and required vulnerability patching requirements for both production and development environments. You will learn how to utilize and support IBM diagnostic tools, create & manage OEM problem tickets with our external hardware & software vendors.

**How You’ll Succeed**
+ **Strategic Planning** – Assist senior mainframe engineering leas in the development of strategic hardware and software release and upgrade plans, to align with CIBC business goals and long term growth. Co-ordinate & create problem tickets with our external vendors to resolution to ensure operational efficiency systems service level agreements are achieved on a daily basis.
+ **Reporting & Analysis** – Assist in the preparation & present technology roadmaps, maintenance schedules, operational reports and dashboards for executive leadership. Collaborate with cross functional teams to gather input, ensure data accuracy and drive execution of strategic mainframe initiatives.
+ **Communication** Clear and effective communication has always stood at the forefront of successful engagements. Establish a highly collaborative environment, promote engagement. Understand the value of maintaining well-organized information and open communication at all levels.
+ **Project Delivery** – Employ a results-oriented approach to ensure successful delivery; proactively manage risk and find solutions. Monitor milestones, and ensure they’re completed according to timelines.
**Who You Are**
+ **You can demonstrate experience** with Storage subsystems, Network protocols, Parallel Sysplex systems configurations, z/OS operating systems implementation and diagnostic processes. You have working knowledge of applying SMP/E maintenance (PTFs, APARS, HIPER fixes) within a z/OS mainframe environment. Technical experience with COBOL & Assembler coding an asset. Good working knowledge of systems monitoring tools such as IBM OMEGAMON, MainView and SysView an asset. Keen interest in learning z/OS system internals (WLM, Coupling Facility & Parallel Sysplex and Geographically Dispersed Parallel Sysplex )
