We're seeking an experienced z/OS System Programmer to manage and maintain our mainframe computer systems. In this role, you'll be responsible for the installation, configuration, and ongoing smooth operation of the z/OS operating system and related software
Tasks:
Install, update, and configure z/OS and third-party software.Provide 24/7 on-call support for critical system issues.Manage system I/O, prepare for maintenance, and participate in disaster recovery drills.Execute system projects, including upgrades, migrations, and LPAR/CPU changes.Maintain system security profiles and manage data files (SMF, OMVS, zFS).Document all system changes and procedures.Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field.5+ years of dedicated z/OS system programming experience.Strong understanding of z/OS architecture, programming, and troubleshooting.Proficiency with z/OS system commands, tools, and automation.Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.Bonus Points:
z/OS system programming certification.Experience with IDMS.Experience with JES, IMS, CICS, REXX, DB2 or COBOL.Knowledge of mainframe systems in the cloud.What will you find at DXC?
