YouTube Social Manager

We’re looking for a creative and data-driven **YouTube Social Manager** to grow our presence on the world’s largest video platform. In this role, you’ll shape the strategy, optimize our channels, and collaborate with creators to deliver engaging, informative content that meets learners where they are. You’ll bring YouTube practices to elevate discoverability, boost engagement, and help millions build in-demand skills. As YouTube Social Manager, you’ll be responsible for overseeing the growth and performance of our Microsoft Learn and skilling-related YouTube channels. You will manage content planning, Search Engine Optimization (SEO), metadata, and performance tracking to ensure our content reaches and resonates with global audiences. This opportunity will allow you to partner with creators, strategists, and product teams to amplify educational content and drive measurable business and learner outcomes. Each day we build on our values of respect, integrity, and accountability to create a culture of inclusion where everyone can thrive. **Responsibilities** + Develop and implement YouTube strategies to grow subscribers, boost engagement, and support Microsoft’s skilling and learning goals. + Own content calendars and release schedules across priority YouTube channels, ensuring consistency and alignment with editorial and campaign priorities. + Oversee video uploads, titles, metadata, thumbnails, and playlists with a focus on SEO and discoverability. + Review and optimize video performance through data insights—providing feedback to editors and creators to improve watch time and retention. + Monitor platform trends, algorithm changes, and new features to continually evolve and enhance our YouTube strategy. + Collaborate with internal stakeholders (social, editorial, product marketing, learning experience teams) and external creators/agencies to align on messaging and production needs. + Analyze KPIs and reporting dashboards to generate insights and make recommendations that guide long-term growth. + Contribute to content ideation and series development that connects with learners and positions Microsoft as a trusted educational platform. + Other: Embody our Culture (https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/about/corporate-values) and Values (https://careers.microsoft.com/us/en/culture) **Qualifications** **Required/Minimum Qualifications** + Vocational qualification or higher education degree (e.g., Bachelor's Degree) AND/OR 2+ years experience in Learning and Development, relevant technical roles, business development, field or sales, HR, customer success, collection management, research/restoration evaluation, industry, or program/project management + OR Master's Degree or equivalent AND/OR 1+ year(s) experience in Learning and Development, relevant technical roles, business development, quota management, human resources (HR), customer success, collection management, research/restoration evaluation, industry, or program/project management + OR equivalent experience. + 2+ years of experience managing YouTube Channels for large media brands or tech companies. **Additional or Preferred Qualifications** + Vocational qualification or higher education degree (e.g., Bachelor's Degree) AND 6+ years experience in Learning and Development, relevant technical roles, business development, field or sales, HR, customer success, collection management, research/restoration evaluation, industry, or program/project management + OR Master's Degree or equivalent AND 4+ years experience in Learning and Development, relevant technical roles, business development, field or sales, human resources (HR), customer success, collection management, research/restoration evaluation, industry, or program/project management + OR equivalent experience. + Microsoft Fundamentals, Coaching (e.g., International Coaching Federation), Project and/or Program Management Professional, archival, or a similar certificate. + Demonstrates commitment to career development and continuous or consistent learning through formal and informal efforts (e.g., change management, design thinking, management training, online courses). + Driving growth through YouTube SEO, analytics, and content strategy. + Understanding of YouTube algorithms, audience behavior, and platform. + Experience in educational content, learning platforms, or skills-focused video production. + Familiarity with YouTube CMS, Google Analytics, and tools like TubeBuddy or vidIQ. + Visual and storytelling instincts, with the ability to identify trends and creative opportunities. + Basic video editing experience is a plus (e.g., Premiere Pro, CapCut). Integrated Learning IC4 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $96,500 - $188,400 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $123,500 - $206,400 per year. Certain roles may be eligible for benefits and other compensation.
