Our partnership with the Co-op is an exciting, innovative project where we are aiming to support young people, aged 10-25 years across the UK.

We are recruiting a dynamic ‘As and When' Project Worker, who can support us to deliver our new service in Sedgemoor - Sedgemoor For Our Future!

Sedgemoor For Our Future has been designed by young people, for young people.

The role is flexible with opportunities to support the team in running groupwork sessions designed to support and improve young people's mental wellbeing, access to food through cooking activities and support to run events that young people can access to develop skills and confidence.

Groupwork sessions will largely be running during evenings and during half terms. For Our Future (SFOF) is a service that has been co-designed by local young people and is part of Barnardo's partnership with the Co-op. The partnership has three key aims:

Improve young people's mental wellbeing Improve access to basic needs (food) Improve access to opportunities

SFOF runs 2 groups per week, one in Sedgemoor (Weds) and one in Highbridge (Tues) where young people can come together and:

Learn to cook Eat together Make new friends and connect Talk about things that are important to them Play games Learn new skills Develop confidence and teamwork skills.

 

We are looking for applicants who are:

Confident and creative in engaging and working alongside young people aged between 10-25 years. Inclusive, kind and non-judgemental in their approach to engaging with young people. Able to provide emotional and practical support to young people, in line with safeguarding policies and procedures. Flexible to work evenings and weekends where required to meet the needs of the service.
