Wage: $28 to $32 per hour Schedule: Up to 19 Hours Per Week Location: 175 Fulton Ave - 4th Floor, Hempstead NY

 


Core Purpose of This Role:

The Youth Restorative Practices Trainer is a temporary position supporting the Restorative Practices Institute (RPI), a program of the Long Island Dispute Resolution Center (LIDRC). The Trainer is responsible for delivering youth-centered restorative practices training and engagement throughout Nassau and Suffolk Counties. This includes facilitation of peer mediation, restorative circles, conflict coaching, and related initiatives in both school and community-based settings. Please note, this position is temporary & will run from now to June 30th of 2026.

 

Key Responsibilities:

Facilitate in-person and virtual restorative practices trainings for youth, school personnel, organizations, and community members, including peer mediation, restorative circles, and conflict resolution skills. Support youth leadership development and provide coaching to youth participants engaged in restorative programming. Assist in developing culturally responsive and developmentally appropriate training materials, activities, and resources for diverse audiences. Collaborate with schools, youth-serving organizations, and community partners to schedule, promote, and deliver restorative practices trainings and engagement activities. Track attendance, outcomes, and feedback from trainings, circles, and related sessions for program evaluation and continuous improvement. Conduct outreach to schools, youth groups, school staff, and community-based organizations to expand awareness and utilization of LIDRC and RPI services. Participate in team meetings, staff development opportunities, and special events as required. Perform all other relevant tasks as assigned by Supervision and EAC NETWORK Administration.

 

Requirements:

Associate’s Degree strongly recommended; equivalent education and relevant experience will be considered. Bachelor’s Degree preferred. Minimum of two years of experience working with youth in a restorative practices, education, or community-based setting. Demonstrated experience in group facilitation, conflict resolution, or youth leadership training. Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple training engagements across sites. Proficiency in computer applications including Microsoft Office, Zoom, and other systems necessary to support program delivery and reporting. Strong interpersonal and communication skills; ability to build rapport with diverse youth populations. Must be able to travel within Nassau and Suffolk Counties, with occasional travel to other parts of New York State; some evening or weekend availability may be required.
