Job Summary:
The Tax Department is seeking motivated and enthusiastic rising Sophomores or Juniors interested in pursuing a career in Tax to join our year-round Tax Department Intern Program. This program offers valuable hands-on experience in various aspects of income taxes, including compliance, reporting, research, and audit defense. The internship requires a commitment of 15-20 hours per week during the school year and full-time availability during vacation periods, including the summer months.
Please note that this role requires to be in office in Providence, Rhode Island for a minimum two full days per week during the school year and full time during the summer for the duration of the program.
Responsibilities:
Preparation of non-complex federal and state tax returns in compliance with statutory requirements.Assist with preparation of more complex federal and state tax returns.Preparation of non-complex US international related compliance, including forms 5471s, 8865s, 8858s, and 1042, etc. in compliance with statutory requirements.Assist with preparation of more complex US international calculations, including Subpart F, GILTI, and the Foreign Tax Credit.Preparation of supporting tax schedules and technical forms.Assist with research projects and resulting technical memo write-ups documenting conclusions.Develop income tax compliance skills as well as research skills.Collaborate with tax professionals to understand and complete basic Federal, state and local income tax returns, and US international compliance forms.Gain exposure to tax compliance software.Participate in implementation of tax compliance process improvement initiatives.Textron is a renowned global multi-industry company with a diverse portfolio spanning aerospace and defense, specialized vehicles, turf care, and fuel systems. Demonstrated ability to quickly learn and develop technical skills.Strong work ethic with a proven track record of achievement and the ability to work independently.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.Education/Experience:
