Our Clean Mobility Division is looking for a year-round Health, Safety, and Environmental Intern for its location in Columbus, Indiana.
Your mission, roles and responsibilities Conduct Risk Assessments for all equipment / tasks, includes identification of the risk to human health or life, the likelihood of occurrence, current control measures in place, and additional control measures needed.PPE - Personal Protective EquipmentConduct periodic comprehensive HSE audits at Faurecia locations.Develop and / or revise HSE Start Up work instructionsConduct plant audit on each workstation to confirm an HSE work instruction exists or needs revisedCreate or revise to ensure all workstation have HSE start-up instruction 100% plant wide through plant document control systemObserve station to station plant wide to ensure operators have the correct level of protection for the task they are performing i.e. gloves, safety glasses, proper attire, etc.Observe station to station plant wide to identify any hazards that may create a slip, trip or fallReview equipment to identify anything unsafeMachine guardingMaintain Environmental logs and records regarding materials and wasteConduct environmental & safety trainingAssist with plant and state injury reporting and incident investigations and claims reportingDevelop revised Lockout Tagout PlacardsWorking in conjunction with maintenance personnel to identify all lockout points and the proper method of lockout to be used for all equipmentDocument in work instruction format and process through document control system lockout tagout placard for each piece of equipment - Development of lockout tags for specific hazards for machine locations in connection to the lockout tagout placardAudit and update MSDS (Material Safety Data Sheet) files and chemical inventory logConduct plant wide chemical inventory auditEnsure a Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS) are on file for each chemical in-house -Obtain any missing MSDS for processingAssist in incident investigation.HSE data entry and filing as needed.Assist Health, Safety, and Environment Manager in any additional needs.Additional tasks as assigned by the company.Your profile and competencies to succeed Pursuing degree in Health, Safety & Environmental, Occupational Health & Safety, Industrial Hygiene, Environmental Engineering, or any related field.Approachable and pleasant personalityTeachableSelf-drivenAbility to communicate effectively with hourly and management employeesComfortable in a manufacturing/ industrial settingExcellent oral and written communicationExcellent time management skillsProficient in data entry, and Microsoft programs including Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.Proficient level of EnglishWhat we can do for you At Forvia, you will find an engaging and dynamic environment where you can contribute to the development of sustainable mobility leading technologies.
