Job Details:

Yard trailer checker (Lot Checker) - D Shift - Olathe - Full Time

This position is responsible for operating trucks and moving trailers in and out of loading areas for shipping while maintaining a safe work environment and adhering to Tyson policies and procedures.

 

Shift:

D shift - Wednesday; 1am to 7:15am

Thursday to Saturday; 7pm to 7am

Duties:

Must operate shag truck in a safe manner at all times by following all safety procedures.Move correct trailer from yard to door and door to yard.Communicate with drivers in a respectful manner.Set reefer units at appropriate settings.Check to see if reefer units will start.Communicate with dispatcher and follow instructions.Chock trailers.Report any fuel or oil leaks to maintenance.Breaks must be staggered.Will be responsible for the cleanliness of the shuttle truck.Will do pre-inspection for safety and mechanical defects on shuttle truck at beginning of shift.Lot checks as requested by management.Other Duties as Assigned

Requirements of Job:

Must be willing to lift cases of product and pallets that can weigh up to 40 lbs. From floor to up over head.Must be willing to tolerate extreme cold and extreme heat (9-12 hours per day).Must be willing to bend at waist and knees on a repetitive basis (9-12 hours per day).Must be willing to twist and turn (9-12 hours per day).Must be willing to climb in and out of truck cab on a continual basis (9-12 hours per day).Must be willing to walk a great deal (9-12 hours per day)

Requirements:

Must be able to communicate clearly via phone, in person and in writing, able to use touch screen or manual tracking system to keep accurate flow of trailer and shag trucks. This position requires person to wash trailer if necessary and requires the ability to accurately complete product protection activities. Must be willing and able to work weekends and accommodate occasional shift changes.Previous shag driving preferred but no required​Must have a valid driver's license and at least 18 years of age. No DUI or DWIs in the last 12 monthsLocation not accepting rehires
