Job Description

Yard Jockey-

Move trailers between loading docks, yard locations, and staging areas

Ensure trailers are properly positioned for loading/unloading

Perform routine equipment checks and report maintenance needs

Coordinate trailer movement with warehouse and dispatch teams

Maintain accurate yard inventory and trailer logs

Operate yard truck safely and efficiently in a fast-paced environment

Adhere to all safety regulations and site procedures

Work Experience

Yard Jockey-

Experience operating yard tractors, hostlers, or switcher trucks

Proficient in backing trailers into tight dock spaces

Strong understanding of yard safety protocols and trailer inspection basics

Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions

Capable of working independently and following instructions with minimal supervision

Comfortable with physically demanding work, including climbing in/out of trucks frequently

Flexibility to work extended shifts, weekends, or holidays as needed
