Comcast NBCUniversal has announced its intent to create a new publicly traded company ('Versant') comprised of most of NBCUniversal's cable television networks, including USA Network, CNBC, MSNBC, Oxygen, E!, SYFY and Golf Channel along with complementary digital assets Fandango, Rotten Tomatoes, GolfNow, GolfPass, and SportsEngine. The well-capitalized company will have significant scale as a pure-play set of assets anchored by leading news, sports and entertainment content. The spin-off is expected to be completed during 2025. The Writer/Producer, Creative Content at NBC Entertainment sits on the writing team within the Creative Content group and supports our marketing initiatives for multiple platforms. This person is a dynamic storyteller who can master the NBC voice and engage our viewers with polished writing and fresh ideas for various marketing needs across the organization. They also have a deep understanding of social media and are able to produce and even capture video content that excites fans.   Responsibilities: + Be an engaged, active member of a creative team that collaborates and exchanges ideas daily + Display strength in multiple styles of writing, including commercial-level concept and script writing for promos, as well as traditional marketing copy + Comfortable pitching your ideas in meetings and in front of executives + Act as the point person for all writing needs on assigned NBC shows, from pre-premiere to the season finale and beyond, becoming an expert in the characters, talent, storylines, popular moments, and more + Lead group brainstorming sessions for assigned shows and contribute to all other brainstorming sessions + Craft and edit your writing with a clear understanding of the NBC brand voice + Partner closely with multiple teams and departments to tailor your writing to different audiences and platforms while staying aligned with approved strategy + Proofread copy, ads, and other marketing tactics with a fine-tuned attention to detail, signing off before they are shipped + Work seamlessly with creative directors, producers, editors, and fellow writers + Produce engaging social video content for your shows from concept to execution + Capture social-forward content on set with talent + Stay on top of cultural, digital, and social trends to identify content and messaging that will appeal to our viewers Some Examples of What You Will Write Include: + Smart, commercial-level, and on-brand original scripts for promos in all genres + Clever and strategic key art taglines + Clear and digestible show descriptions + Social-forward concepts and scripts for behind-the-scenes and EPK shoots + SEO-friendly and enticing show titles + Engaging titles, descriptions, and easily searchable metadata for social posts + Highly-clickable thumbnail copy for digital/social + And more! Basic Requirements:  + 2+ years of experience writing for an entertainment or gaming company, creative agency, or in-house creative studio + A proactive sense of urgency when it comes to projects, deadlines, and assignments + Strong proofreading skills with an eye for grammatical and visual details + A flair for short and sweet copy that speaks to both traditional and digital-first audiences + An eye for visual storytelling and understanding of how to craft fan-centric content + An affinity for strategic thinking and a grasp of how messaging relates to images + Writing samples that showcase your voice and range + An independent problem-solver who thinks strategically + Able to navigate feedback gracefully while managing quick deadlines, approvals, and last-minute changes Desired Characteristics:  + Basic Adobe Premiere editing skills preferred + An understanding of digital video production and post-production + Familiarity with Microsoft Office, Final Draft, Airtable, Veritone, Frame.io, Dropbox, Adobe Premiere, TikTok, and YouTube Additional Requirements:  + Hybrid: This position has been designated as hybrid, generally contributing from the office a minimum of three days per week.  This position is eligible for company sponsored benefits, including medical, dental and vision insurance, 401(k), paid leave, tuition reimbursement, and a variety of other discounts and perks.
