Your New Role

Avalanche, a division of Warner Bros. Games, Inc., seeks a talented storyteller and writer with a deep understanding of the wizarding world. Applicants should be excellent writers as well as creative, self-motivated problem solvers who enjoy collaborating with other writers and designers to create an immersive game narrative.

Role Accountabilities

Collaborate with the story, design, and cinematics teams to develop compelling, complex, branching narratives that fit the world and the gameplay experience.

Research and play a variety of videogames to keep current on gaming trends and understand how stories intertwine with gameplay.

Research brand-specific details to ensure authenticity to the wizarding world.

Modify and edit work as needed based on direction from story and design teams and franchise representatives, including rewriting and editing dialogue as a result of playtesting and design changes.

Review product as necessary, including playing builds of the game when available, to ensure narrative quality and accuracy to the world.

Qualifications & Experience

Bachelor's degree (B.A.) from a four-year college or university.

At least 3+ years of relevant game production experience.

Proficiency as a storyteller and writer, with a special emphasis on screenwriting and branching dialogue.

Work that shows a deep understanding of gaming narrative and branching storytelling, particularly in the realm of RPGs.

Expertise in Final Draft and Microsoft Excel a plus.

Strong organizational skills.

Knowledge of the game-making process.

Ability to perform well under pressure and deliver work in a timely manner.

Excellent communication and collaboration skills, including impeccable spelling and grammar.

Strong belief in a team-based approach.
