MaK, one of the top engine brands in the medium-speed propulsion market, currently has an opportunity for a **Workshop Technician** in Singapore. Working in the MaK Asia workshop in Singapore, you will perform service, maintenance and overhauling on MaK medium speed marine engine components in a safe manner independently. This repair work requires broad mechanical skills, basic diagnostic capabilities, and an understanding of workshop machinery, machining, tooling, equipment, and medium speed marine engines. You will be required to attend local / Overseas onboard vessels and perform engine component servicing as and when required.
**What You Will Do:**
+ Performs servicing, overhauling, and repair of MaK medium speed engine components which includes machining of cylinder head valve stems, valve seat inserts, oversize valve seat pockets, valve guides, cylinder liner honing, diamond lapping, fuel injection pumps, injectors, pumps, pistons, connecting rods, turbochargers etc.
+ Adhere to best practices in work and able to safely operate various workshop equipment for intended purpose.
+ Performs precision measuring of engine parts and components to a high degree of accuracy using micrometers, dial indicators, gauges, Vernier gauges, feeler gauges etc.
+ Able to prepare workshop measurement sheet and service reports.
+ Able to machine, lap, grind engine parts and components. Training will be provided if required.
+ Performs inspection, NDT testing and analysis of various engine components and parts to determine condition.
+ Performs basic replacement of parts and assemblies without much supervision.
+ Reassembles engine components and carries out required quality assurance testing.
+ Follows defined workshop workflow processes.
+ Performs work from service manuals, maintenance manuals, technical information and equipment schematics.
+ Performs failure analysis and troubleshooting and applying own experience and good judgement.
**What You Have:**
+ Communicates verbally in an effective manner with technical staff, other employees and vendors.
+ To work as a Team in order to meet customer requirement and deadlines
+ Must have basic computer skills and knowledge of Microsoft Office application.
+ Able to speak, read, and write in English.
+ Able to read manual and understand drawings.
+ Execute any assignments given by Manager / Supervisor.
+ Able to travel for overseas assignment on short notice.
**Additional Info:**
+ This role requires travelling up to 25% of the time.
+ This position requires working onsite five days a week.
