We are excited to announce that we are seeking a Workshop Manager to lead our Service Workshop in Arendal, Gothenburg. The role is offered as a permanent contract.
As Workshop Manager in our Service Workshop in Arendal, you will manage a team of 14 skilled professionals, leading the daily workshop operations and ensuring alignment with market and business needs. You will actively identify improvement areas and drive improvement activities to streamline processes and enhance performance and efficiency. You will foster a positive and productive work environment, promoting a culture of collaboration, quality, and safety.
Your responsibilities for the role include, but are not limited to:
Leading and developing the daily operations of the workshop. Managing capacity and resource utilisation to ensure optimal performance. Collaborating closely with other North Europe workshops (especially Rubbestadneset) to identify synergies and share best practices. Actively identifying improvement areas and driving improvement initiatives to enhance business performance, quality, and efficiency. Continuously improving workshop processes to enhance customer experience and value. Engaging with internal stakeholders such as Sales, Sales Support, FS Coordinators, and Contract Management to align workshop capabilities with customer needs. Ensuring compliance with safety, quality, and operational guidelines, encouraging the team to identify potential hazards and related improvement opportunities to contribute to a safe and secure work environment. Handling Performance and Development Dialogues. Daily follow-up of employee needs, such as sick leave, agreed time off, vacations, changes of positions, and retirements. Leading, supporting, and encouraging development and professional growth within the team, both in accordance with development plans and by identifying growth areas based on company needs and individual potential. Delivering accurate and timely reporting to support business transparency and decision-making. Accountable for workshop budget, cost control, and financial performance, ensuring alignment with business targets.
The following will enable you to succeed in this role:
Proven experience in workshop or production management, preferably in a service or industrial setting. Business-oriented mindset with the ability to balance day-to-day operations and long-term strategic planning. Strong grasp of local legal and business frameworks, ensuring compliance and smart decision-making. Demonstrated leadership skills, with the ability to provide guidance and stand by your decisions. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Influential skills to positively impact workplace safety, motivation, and performance. Fluency in English and Swedish, both written and spoken. Proficiency in digital tools and the ability to quickly learn new systems. Commitment to continuous improvement, encouraging, challenging, and supporting change. Technical expertise is highly advantageous but not required.
