We’re hiring a Work Site Stabilization Technician to support our Corporate HQ in Columbia, MO and we’re looking for someone who’s ready to grow with us, bring energy and drive to their work, and help us build the future of construction. We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Work Site Stabilization Technician to join our field operations team. This role plays a critical part in preparing, stabilizing, and finishing work sites for construction, industrial, and infrastructure projects. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in heavy equipment operation and be proficient in working with various soil stabilization techniques, including base and top layer applications. This position requires extensive travel to job sites across the region or country, often involving overnight stays and weekend shifts.
Primary ResponsibilitiesSite Preparation & Stabilization
Operate and maintain heavy equipment (e.g., skid steers, graders, compactors, water trucks, reclaimers, and bulldozers) used for soil stabilization and surface preparation. Perform subgrade and base layer assessments and apply treatments to ensure proper compaction, drainage, and durability. Execute stabilization processes including lime, chat, or fly ash mixing and spreading.Layer Application Finishing
Install and compact base layers using aggregate materials. Finish grade and smooth top layers for concrete or asphalt paving or other surface installations. Ensure accuracy in elevation and slope per site plans and blueprints.Field Mobility
Travel to various job sites—up to 90% of the time, including overnights and weekends, depending on project needs. Adapt to changing environments, weather conditions, and schedules while maintaining professionalism and efficiency.Safety & Compliance
Follow all OSHA, DOT, and company safety guidelines while on-site and in transit. Conduct daily equipment inspections and field reports; identify and report any mechanical or structural issues immediately.Communication & Collaboration
Coordinate with site supervisors, project managers, and other field staff to ensure timely and high-quality execution. Provide input on field conditions, material needs, and equipment performance. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Strong knowledge of rock applications for work site preparation. Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record. Willingness and ability to travel frequently with extended overnight stays. Education and Experience High school diploma or equivalent. Minimum 3 years of experience operating heavy equipment in construction, roadwork, or site stabilization. CDL Class A or B, preferred. Experience with GPS-based grading systems or automated controls, preferred. OSHA 10 or 30 certification, preferred Physical Requirements Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work outdoors in varying weather conditions. Must be able to stand, kneel, operate equipment and be exposed to dust and vibration for long periods of time. Must be able to travel at least 90% of the teim with overnight and weekend travel required.
