Major Responsibilities: 

 

• Collaborates closely with academic departments to integrate classroom instruction with work-based learning activities.

• Collaborates with Career & Life Design Services and the Job Placement Coordinator to facilitate and support meaningful industry opportunities for students.

• Works in coordination with the Work Experience Coordinator to enhance CTE and STEM Work Experience opportunities.

• Builds and maintains relationships with employers to support administrative and operational requirements for work-based learning programs.

• Plans and implements a variety of work-based learning activities such as guest speaker events, industry site tours, and job shadowing experiences.

• Provides training for faculty, administrators, and staff to support the effective integration of work-based learning.

• Develops and executes a comprehensive marketing plan to promote work-based learning opportunities.

• Participates in campus resource fairs, career events, and other outreach activities to promote work-based learning.

• Leverages technology to promote opportunities and maintain the work-based learning website and social media presence.

• Processes all required paperwork and maintains documentation in compliance with state regulations.

• Coordinates with campus researchers and district offices to fulfill institutional reporting requirements.

• Collect, monitor, and evaluate data on student, faculty, and employer engagement in work-based learning.

• Networks with local, regional, and state-level work-based learning organizations to share best practices and strengthen program offerings.

• Participates in ongoing professional development to remain current in relevant software applications, assessment methods, and work-based learning practices.

• Represents the program in special projects and on campus or district-wide committees.

• Collaborates with district-wide coordinators to support and enhance the work-based learning program.

• Performs other duties as assigned.

 

Qualifications: 

 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS 

 

The minimum qualifications for an instructor or coordinator of general or occupational work experience education, as defined in Section 55252, shall be the minimum qualifications in any discipline in which work experience may be provided at the college where the instructor or coordinator is employed.

 

Desired Qualifications: 

 

• Proven experience designing and implementing high-impact work-based learning (WBL) activities.

• Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain strong partnerships with employers across industries.

• Skilled in fostering effective, collaborative working relationships with campus faculty, staff, and administrators.

• Experience in developing and executing marketing strategies, including digital and electronic marketing, to promote programs and services.

• Experience designing programs and activities grounded in equity-minded practices and inclusive student engagement.

• In-depth knowledge of job market trends, salary data, workforce demographics, and labor market analysis.

• Knowledge of Career Technical Education programs, pathways, and curriculum.

• Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and use relevant tools for data-driven decision-making.

• High attention to detail with the ability to maintain accurate records

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with experience developing and delivering professional presentations.
