Job Description
Join our dynamic team as a Wiring Designer where you will coordinate and collaborate with engineers and other designers involved in high voltage substation design. You will prepare design deliverables based on input from substation design and protection and control engineers, including Single Line, Relaying & Metering Diagrams, AC & DC Schematic Diagrams, Point to Point wiring diagrams, Equipment Interconnection Wiring Diagrams, and Cable Schedules. Your role will also involve investigating and resolving design issues related to electrical wiring, providing technical guidance and mentoring to new designers, interpreting and incorporating vendor information into design deliverables, and conducting walkdowns at client substation facilities.
ResponsibilitiesCoordinate with engineers and designers on high voltage substation design.Prepare design deliverables such as Single Line, Relaying & Metering Diagrams, and Schematic Diagrams.Investigate and resolve design issues related to electrical wiring.Provide technical guidance and mentoring to new designers.Interpret and incorporate vendor information into design deliverables.Conduct walkdowns at client substation facilities.Essential SkillsExperience in wiring, substation design, and substation equipment.Proficiency in wiring schematics and electrical engineering design.Advanced proficiency in AutoCAD or MicroStation.Ability to visualize parts in 3D without the aid of a computer.Understanding of design principles, electrical engineering practices, and relevant codes and standards.Additional Skills & QualificationsAssociate's or Bachelor's Degree or equivalent technical design experience.5+ years of experience in electrical wiring design for substations.Ability to multi-task across multiple projects.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $40.86 - $52.88/hr.
