Windows 11 Systems Engineer
Suvi is looking for a Windows II Systems Engineer to work in Fort Belvoir, VA. The Windows 11 Systems Engineer will play a crucial role in supporting the Army G-6 Special Programs Office's transition to the Windows 11 operating system across the Special Access Program (SAP) community. This position is located at Fort Belvoir and will be responsible for designing, building, testing, and implementing Windows 11 solutions in an enterprise environment, ensuring a robust, secure, and reliable computing environment. The engineer will collaborate with government agencies and internal teams to assess current infrastructure, develop and execute deployment plans, and maintain the ongoing security and optimization of the Windows 11 environment. Responsibilities Design, build, and test Windows 11 operating system solutions for individual projects and systems, ensuring alignment with requirements. Assist in planning, designing technical solutions, and implementing Windows 11 solutions for the enterprise. Write management, deployment, and logging scripts for enterprise implementation of new Windows 11 features. Review security configurations (Microsoft Defender, System Guard, etc.) and recommend best practices for secure Windows 11 standards. Install and configure the baseline operating system and applications in accordance with the enterprise deployment strategy. Optimize existing Windows 11 Task Sequences for enterprise deployment. Administer and optimize Windows Group Policy Objects (GPO) to ensure business continuity. Conduct software compatibility analysis of the General Availability Channel (GAC) or AGM image. Execute deployment and operational analysis of Windows 11 on both Enterprise and standalone workstations. Conduct analysis of the application baseline. Collaborate with government agencies (Army CHESS, NETCOM) to assess and survey current workstation hardware, operating systems, and applications. Communicate technical subjects effectively to both technical and non-technical staff. Qualifications BA/BS degree and 8 years of work experience in a related field. Strong oral and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate technical subjects to non-technical audiences, including senior management. Extensive experience with PowerShell, Microsoft workstation and server environments, and Microsoft Deployment Toolkit (MDT) or Configuration Manager (SCCM). Experience with Hyper-V or other virtualization technologies. Experience with Windows 11 Servicing channels (GAC, LTSC, etc.). Proven ability to write management, deployment, and logging scripts. In-depth knowledge of Windows 11 security configurations and best practices. Experience with installing and configuring operating systems and applications according to enterprise deployment strategies. Experience optimizing Windows 11 Task Sequences for enterprise deployment. Experience administering and optimizing Windows GPOs. Active DoD Top Secret clearance with SCI eligibility is required. One or more DoD 8570 IAT Level II certifications (CCNA Security, CySA+, GICSP, GSEC, Security+ CE, SSCP, CND). Desired Qualifications: Applicable Microsoft certifications (e.g., Windows Server Hybrid Administrator Associate, Microsoft 365 Endpoint Administrator Associate, or equivalent). DoD 8570 IAT Level III certification (CASP+ CE, CCNP Security, CISA, CISSP (or Associate), GCED, GCIH, CCSP). Degree in computer engineering, computer information systems, telecommunications, or management information systems. Experience working with DoD clients.
