As a Winding Machine Operator you will set up, operate, supervise, and tend machines that wind fiberglass onto steel mandrels and operate the oven following the winding process.

Start machines, monitor operation, and make adjustments as needed.Tend both winding machines with multiple winding units that wind fiberglass strands onto steel mandrels.Operate two winding machines. One machine requires more cleaning of parts into wet baths, valves, and compression hoses, as well as more supervision of the winding process due to more strands of fiberglass. The other machine requires more inputting of information into the computer.Tend machines that twist together two or more strands of fiberglass or insert additional twists into single strands of fiberglass to increase strength, smoothness, and/or uniformity of fiberglass.

Work Experience

As a skilled machine operator, you may be required to:

Have basic computer knowledge, reading of various measuring tools, mathematics, including fractions, ability to read and interpret blueprints.Must be comfortable working with fiberglassFamiliar with varying types of measuring tools.Have previously set up, ran, or operated machines in a manufacturing settingMUST HAVE your high school diploma or GED as it will be checked by a 3rd party
