Work Experience
Seeking an engineering candidate to support the operation and maintenance of wind turbine electrical systems. The goal of the Electrical Wind Fleet team is to increase uptime of the fleet and decrease operation and maintenance costs.
Responsibilities:
Root Cause Analysis for fleet level issuesRepair Processes: Repair specifications, repair vendor qualifications, partnering with vendors on new procedures and opportunitiesDrive quality, reliability, availability, and safety improvement initiatives using a data driven mindset. Solutions include component and data-analytic (AI).Remotely support operations teams on difficult turbine specific troubleshootsMentor wind fleet site teams on site level quality improvement initiatives
Work Experience
Basic Requirements
Electrical Engineering Degree or 5+ years of equivalent experiencesWilling and able to climb wind turbines and access turbine hubHave experience writing repair, operations, and/or maintenance procedures and specificationsAbility to work independently and collaboratively within teamsWilling to work in an office environmentAbility and interest to learn and self-teach new skills and technologiesAbility to communicate and present to leadershipBasic financial and business acumen. Can translate engineering solutions into financial benefit to business. Ability to balance and prioritize multiple projects and deliverables Data driven decision makerEstimated travel 20% to wind sites and vendor shopsExperience in one or more of the following areas:
Electrical Systems (up to 690VAC, 230VDC)Electrical SlipringsElectric Motor and Drive Systems:Motors: DC Series, DC Compound Wound, AC Permanent Magnet Synchronous, brakes, resolvers, encodersAC to DC and DC to AC Power ConvertersBatteries and/or Ultra CapacitorsPower Electronic & Control systems Electrical parts repair processesPassion for data mining and analytics
