Wilmington Area Security Leader

DuPont has a leadership opportunity open in Wilmington, DE. The role is within the Facilities Services and Real Estate team and reports to the Experimental Station site leader.

The Experimental Station is a cornerstone research and innovation center at DuPont – the campus is comprised of 43 office, lab, and process buildings; accommodations include a café and catering, conferencing spaces, auditorium, fitness center, and more.

Position Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Site Security Leader to oversee all security matters for the Wilmington Area located at the Experimental Station. This role is crucial for driving the security strategy, maintaining site safety, implementing security protocols, and ensuring compliance with all federal and state security regulations. The Site Security Leader will coordinate with various stakeholders, lead security initiatives, and foster a culture of safety and responsibility across the site.

Responsibilities:

Communication & Coordination: Maintain clear communication with the Global Security Director and Plant Manager, while leading the Site Security Committee and security reporting at leadership meetings.Incident Management: Lead investigations into security incidents, site emergencies, and crisis management events, ensuring timely communication and resolution.Collaboration with Authorities: Liaise with local law enforcement, regulatory agencies, and security suppliers as necessary to address site security matters.Security Oversight: Provide oversight and contract administration for on-site security personnel, ensuring compliance with established security protocols and standards.Access Control Management: Oversee the site ID badging process, including background checks and audits for employees, contractors, and visitors.Security Planning: Maintain, update, and implement the Site Security Plan, including drafting operational security policies and procedures in line with corporate directives.Training & Development: Lead site security training programs and facilitate the “I’m OK” process with site leadership for crisis management preparedness.Audits & Assessments: Conduct First- and Second-Party Security Audits and lead the Security Vulnerability Assessment (SVA) Process.Compliance Assurance: Ensure adherence to all relevant security regulatory requirements, including the Chemical Facility Anti-Terrorism Standards (CFATS).

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s Degree in a related field preferred.Minimum of 5 years’ experience in security operations, preferably in a leadership role.Certified Protection Officer (CPO) or Certified Protection Professional (CPP) designation preferred.Strong written and oral communication skills, with the ability to engage with diverse groups and individuals.Proven analytical thinking and problem-solving abilities.Experience with state-of-the-art security technologies and operational protocols.Excellent leadership capabilities with a strong sense of responsibility and urgency regarding security matters.
