This site produces GREAT STUFF™ and Froth-Pak™ brand spray polyurethane (SPU) insulation foam products and is aligned to the Shelter business of DuPont. The products manufactured at the Wilmington site provide thermal insulation to meet building codes and play a major role in the overall operational efficiency over the lifetime of a building. The Wilmington Plant Leader leads by example and is a role model of DuPont’s core values. The successful candidate will exhibit authentic leadership through daily interactions and engagement with the team. The candidate will lead an empowered workforce of approximately 160 employees and contractors and serve as the primary site business interface for the SPU manufacturing facility and representative of DuPont to the community. The Plant Leader is accountable for the Environmental, Health and Safety performance of the site as well as maintaining the health of the asset through application of reliability best practices and active engagement in the capital planning process. The site must adhere to and continually improve all relevant work processes in the areas of Environmental, Health & Safety, product quality, asset capability and asset utilization, production cost, and delivery (not all inclusive). Delivering quality products to our customers in a safe and cost-effective manner is critical. Other Responsibilities Include: + As people leader, this individual is responsible for all areas supporting the team (communication, people development, team engagement, conflict resolution, performance management, staffing, recognition & discipline). The leader will advocate on behalf of, and be accessible to, employees and stakeholders of the business. + Ensure compliance of all federal, local and company environmental health & safety regulations impacting the plant operations. Direct the implementation and continuous improvement of all safety requirements, programs, standards, and practices. Lead by example and demonstrate a 100% commitment to Environmental, Health & Safety. + Provide leadership and coaching to all team members on issues dealing with safety, environmental, personal health, quality, cost, productivity and the business/customers. + "Translate" business goals and strategies into objectives to make it more meaningful for the team. + Utilize LEAN Manufacturing and Six Sigma tools to drive continuous improvement projects and foster a focused-improvement culture in all employees and operations. + Communicate effectively and holding regular meetings to provide timely business updates. Escalates issues appropriately to leadership through effective communication. + Represent the plant in the business strategy development and goal setting process. + Support the business (and the Integrated Operations function) by achieving goals and by aligning plant operations with the business (and functional) strategies, including Business Technology Implementation Plans + Facilitate employee development, coaching, counseling, mentoring, motivation, and policy-setting to create environment for employees and work teams that support commitment to continuous improvement and empowerment. + Develop annual and long-term operating budgets, operate the plants within these guidelines, and conduct monthly analysis to ensure costs comply with budgetary goals and functional guidelines. + Actively participate in Community Outreach and support activities in accordance with DuPont’s local and country wide image by representing the site at external cultural events (community action panels, school events, local fairs/exhibitions). **Qualifications** + A minimum of a bachelor’s degree in Chemical, Electrical, or Mechanical Engineering is required. + A minimum of 10 years of manufacturing experience is required.
