WHS Internal Auditor

We are seeking a talented individual to join our JLT Public Sector team at Marsh. This role will be based in our Adelaide office. This is a hybrid role that had a requirement of working at least three days in the office. The successful candidate will be provided with a vehicle – tool of trade car and onsite parking provided.

We will count on you to:

An opportunity has arisen for a WHS Internal Auditor to join our team to provide professional support to all Councils, Scheme Members and Scheme staff on the effective implementation and use of internal auditing activities;

Assist in the development and ongoing application of an industry internal audit program, including scope, schedule, priorities (including Members to be involved).Assist in developing generic and specific tools based on Model Documents and specific Council documents.Manage and deliver audits as per schedule of audits.Prepare reports and communications on the learnings and potentially required actions, support organisations with the inclusion of such actions into their plans and verify the effectiveness of such actions.Prepare Work schedule and provide a monthly report. Provide report to Internal Audit Program Lead and WHS manager by the end of the first full week each month.Development and maintenance of effective relationships with members.Support the system audit program by mentoring Member staff as required.Provide corrective action support.Undertake risk and safety advisory services for Members as required.Any other appropriate activity requested by the WHS manager or delegate.

What you need to have:

Lead auditor qualifiedPertinent standards (ReturnToWork SA WHS Standards for Self-Insurers; AS/NZS 45001: Occupational health and safety management systems - Requirements with guidance for use; ISO 31000 Risk Management –Guidelines).Auditing principles & processes.Ability to work as a team member.Commitment to principles of Customer Service and Best Practice.High-level communication skills, both verbal and written.Sound knowledge of South Australian Work Health & Safety legislation, principles and practice.Management of risk philosophy, expertise and experience.Knowledge of the Local Government Act 1999, other relevant Acts, and knowledge of Scheme Rules.Understanding of the Local Government Act and risks within Local Government.Understanding of the range of occupations/tasks/jobs within Local Government.Capacity to work with Scheme Members and their employees at all levels.Ability to plan, organise and work independently with an associated ability to prioritise work goals.Demonstrate initiative and innovative outlook.Strong problem solving, analytical/research and decision making skills.Ability to organise and conduct training sessions.High level of integrity in dealing with confidential information.Training and assessment (E.G. Certificate IV in Training and Assessment).

Computer literacy – competent in use of MS Office applications.Hold a current SA drivers license
