Job Title: Wendy's Wonderful Kids Recruiter Department: Foster Care Position Summary Facilitate the match of children freed for adoption with appropriate families by utilizing Child-Focused Recruitment Model Department Gateway Longview’s Community Based Services programs supports children and youth ages birth-21 years struggling with behavioral, social, and emotional challenges. Primary Responsibilities + Responsible for information gathering on the child and building an in depth history of the case to seek out all potential matches for the child. + Ensure all contacts, documentation, reviews, reports and all other required items are up to date. + Adhere to the Wendy’s Wonderful Recruiter Child-Focused Recruitment Model. + Assess the child’s strengths, challenges, desires, and preparedness for adoption. Ensure that a plan is developed to work with the child on the challenges and follow the child’s desires for a match + Develop a comprehensive recruitment plan based on diligent search efforts, including file reviews and interviews + Provide adoption readiness support to potential adoptive families to ensure that both the child and family are prepared for the adoption finalization + Document all recruitment efforts in Child Trends Database through Wendy’s Wonderful Kids + Build awareness of a variety of community resources for children and families + Other duties as assigned Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities + Must have excellent communication skills + Ability to multi-task and be detail oriented + Ability to work independently and be an enthusiastic team player + Possess assessment skills, ability to engage families, and establish and maintain relationships with social services and other service providers + Ability to work non-traditional hours as needed + Ability to work effectively with clients, staff, families, and community contacts Qualifications + Bachelor’s Degree with 2 years of experience in social work or other human services field. + Valid New York State driver’s license, adequate auto insurance, and reliable transportation to travel locally on a regular basis is required An EEO/AA Agency We want to emphasize that the preferred qualifications are not required and that we are committed to helping our future colleagues develop these preferred skills.
