The Welding Engineer works in the area of fabrication. Responding directly to the Sr. Engineer responsible for the area. The Welding engineer will have to implement new products respecting lean production processes in his area. Will support the daily operation of every component processed in his area. The Welding Engineer is always responsible to keep the process design, tools and machines in best working condition .
EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION
>Engineering degree (Mechanical, Electromechanical, Industrial or Mechatronic).
>3 years or more of experience in manufacturing
SPECIFIC KNOWLEDGE, CERTIFICATIONS AND SKILLS
>Bilingual (80% English & Spanish) both oral and written
>3D Modeling Software
>Six Sigma methodologies
>Knowledge in Welding Process MIG, TIG
>Hydraulics, Pneumatics, Electrics knowledge.
>GD&T knowledge
>Knowledge in Lean Manufacturing: Material Flow, KanBan, 7 Wastes, FMEA, DFM, SMED, Problem Solving, 5S,
>AVIX and Yamazumi methodology desirable
MAIN TASKS AND RESPONSABILITIES
>Develop manufacturable Parts/Components with R&D respecting equipment capability
>Asses and releases manufacture drawings
>Develop and maintain line balancing according to requirement.
>Built, maintain and improve VSM.
>Assessing equipment requirements
>Design tooling for production stations that meets safety and quality standards.
>Design transfer carts.
>Define hand tools Requirement
>Create, deliver and up-date the work instructions
>Make and maintain a list of spare parts and create a preventive maintenance schedule
>Support daily operation
>Provide all information required in SAP
>Follow the theoretical Welding Wire consumption vs real consumption to assure physical Inventory
>Provide all information required for PPAP
>Implement Lean Manufacturing Ideology
>Create and maintain the workload capacity record of the machine
>Create and maintain the material flow chart related with the machine
>Create and maintain an efficient Kanban area
>Performs activities related to safety and leads the multifunctional team for the EHS Risk assessment.
>Build the P3, Pilot and Dry Run parts.
>Any other duties or responsibilities as assigned by the department supervisor.
>Participate in compliance with the QMS (Quality Management System) determined for their role in relation to the standard ISO9001: 2015.
>Comply with safety rules according to the function.
>Comply in time planned training related to Quality and Training.
Identify and report any quality and compliance issues and support corrective actions.
