Scope of Responsibility: 

Working under the direct supervision of the Shift Supervisor and the assigned Lead, the Welder D performs production within prescribed codes and according to prescribed procedures, specifications, and drawings.

 

 Essential Duties:

Inspects weld surfaces for dirt, rust & flaws prior to weldingTack welds and/or finish welds to required production levelsAssembles products by competently and safely operating hand tools such as torches, grinders      and weld machinesDetermines sequence of operations by reading & studying blueprints, specifications and work      ordersUnderstands how to read and understand a tape measure to layout parts for weldingFollows assigned work instructions to prepare items for weldingUnderstands how to log in and out of, and proficiently uses, the Epicor ERP system to record work completed on jobsUses overhead cranes and/or gantries to transport and move materialKeeps assigned work area clean and always organized and assists with keeping other work areas clean and organizedContributes to a safe working environment by being responsible for quality, safety, organization, and cleanliness in area of operationContributes to team effort by communicating and working well with othersPerforms other duties as assigned

 

Position Requirements:

High school diploma or equivalent desiredSome experience in a welding environment preferredMust be able to read, understand and communicate effectively in the English language Must contribute to the success of the teamMust have demonstrated ability to accurately read blueprints, tape measure and comprehend documents such as safety rules, operating and procedure manualsMust have the ability to pass Sabre’s welder D certification and certify to use overhead cranes and gantriesPosition is in a manufacturing environment.  Environment could be noisy, dusty and will vary in temperatureMust be able to perform work functions while standing for long periods of timeMust wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) as required per the Company’s safety policies and programsMust be able to lift, push and pull up to 50 pounds, frequently exerting 30 pounds of forceMust be able to stoop, bend, kneel, reach and graspMust be able to use foot pedal to operate equipmentMust be able to pass standard pre-employment vision test
