Shift: A Shift

Pay Level Range: Starting at $27.30 to $39.00 per hour.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (Include, but are not limited to the following)

Provide fabrication support with moderate supervision to ensure the safe and effective operation of equipment and structures.Fabricate custom metal parts, frames, and supports using welders, torches, grinders, and cutting tools.Operate manual machining equipment such as lathes, mills, drill presses, and surface grinders to manufacture or modify components to precise specifications.Measure, mark, and inspect workpieces using micrometers, calipers, and other precision tools to ensure accuracy and quality.Interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and work orders to meet design specifications.Perform routine and emergency welding, fabrication, and machining work on plant machinery and components. While adhering to Tyson standards.Safely apply welding and machining skills to all assigned production equipment and support structures.Effectively interact with all plant personnel to accomplish plant and individual goals.Minimize downtime by producing quality fabricated and machined components in a timely manner.Must be able to work overtime and weekends as needed.

REQUIREMENTS:

Education and Experience: Minimum 2 years of fabrication, machining, or mechanical work experience or be a graduate of an accredited welding or machining program.

Physical Requirements: The successful candidate(s) must be willing and able to perform the physical requirements of the job with or without a reasonable accommodation.

SPECIAL SKILLS:

Computer Skills: Basic computer skills necessary for logging information, processing daily work orders, and completing required documentation. Ability to learn and utilize the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).

Communication Skills: Effective communication and basic math skills required.

Ability to lift, push, and pull up to 75 lbs. occasionally; ability to lift 20 lbs. frequently.Ability to stand on a hard surface for up to 12 hours per day.Ability to work in confined and tall spaces, walk, climb, utilize a ladder, operate a lift, bend, and stoop.Repetitive gripping, pushing, and pulling.Frequent overhead work.Temperatures inside the plant may vary from -25 degrees to over 100 degrees; outside work may also be needed.Basic math skills, including percentages, fractions, and measurements.

Applicants will be considered for Fabricator level openings.

Leveling is determined during the interview process based on skillset, knowledge, and experience.

Any listed amounts represent the base pay range. Additional compensation may be available for this position based on various factors such as shift differentials, standby/on-call, overtime, premiums, extra shift incentives, or bonuses. Pay is just one part of Tyson’s total compensation package.
