**Job Title: Assembler Metal Products**
**Job Description**
We are seeking a short-term production/fabricator to assist during the busy summer period. The role involves the proper, productive, and safe fitting and joining of various skylight, smoke vent, and other components using selected fabricating processes and procedures. The position offers a day shift from 5 am to 1:30 pm with the availability of overtime.
**Responsibilities**
+ Safely and securely move required materials in and out of the welding area as designated by the department supervisor, using a pallet jack or forklift if certified.
+ Layout, position, align, and secure parts and assemblies prior to tacking and welding using prescribed fixtures, clamps, squares, and tape measures.
+ Operate manual aluminum and steel wire-feed welding equipment to properly join metal components using the fabricating process within defined quality parameters.
+ Examine work pieces for defects using tape measures, straight edges, squares, or templates to ensure conformance with specifications.
+ Monitor the welding process to prevent overheating, warpage, distortion, or burning through materials.
+ Detect faulty welding machine operation or defective materials and notify supervisors.
+ Stack and secure finished parts on pallets before transferring them to the assembly department.
+ Ensure all counts of finished products are correct and marked or tagged with the order number or other identifying marks.
+ Maintain a clean and hazard-free work area.
**Essential Skills**
+ Proficiency in MIG welding and blueprint reading.
+ Basic fabricating aptitude with either a 2-year technical school degree or 2 years of related work experience.
+ Knowledge and experience in safety requirements for operating and maintaining wire-feed equipment and material handling.
+ Knowledge of wire and filler materials required for joining aluminum and galvanized steel.
+ Working knowledge of fixturing, clamping, and weld set-up parameters such as volts, amps, and wire speed.
+ Ability to use and understand basic measuring instruments and accurately read and interpret manufacturing drawings.
+ Proficiency in assigned welding techniques and finish grinding tools and techniques.
**Additional Skills & Qualifications**
+ Completion of an internal pre-employment welding test.

**Pay and Benefits**
The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $25.00/hr.
