KRCG 13 is looking for a Weekend Meteorologist/MMJ to present the weather forecast for the weekend news and MMJ 3 days a week. Reporting stories will primarily cover weather, climate, and environmental topics. 

The main day-to-day responsibilities of the role will include…

Forecasting, producing, and presenting clear and concise weathercasts, which tell a story and connect with viewers Produce graphics and maps, and report live during weather events Utilize social media during severe weather, as well as write weather stories Make public appearances on behalf of the station Fill in for the other meteorologists on weather when needed. Shoot, edit, and create content for news when needed. Post content for various social media platforms (e.g., YouTube, Instagram, TikTok, etc.). Write, shoot, and edit content for on-air and online platforms

 What skills are required to be successful in this role?

Ability to tell memorable and meaningful weather stories Ability to demonstrate experience with active and visual live shots In-depth knowledge of forecasting Ability to multitask while meeting deadlines and prioritizing tasks Experience with The Weather Company Max graphics software preferred Bachelor's degree in Meteorology, or related field, or an equivalent combination of education and work-related experience. Must have a valid driver's license with clean driving record
