Job Description

Job Summary 

The Supervisor, Telemetry provides clinical and operational leadership to ensure the delivery of safe, high-quality, patient-centered care within the telemetry unit. This role supports nursing staff by coordinating daily operations, managing throughput, and reinforcing evidence-based practice standards. The Supervisor promotes accountability, clinical excellence, and an exceptional patient experience while ensuring compliance with regulatory and organizational policies. 

Essential Functions

Oversees the daily operations of the telemetry unit, ensuring appropriate staffing, workflow coordination, and resource utilization. Provides direct supervision to clinical staff, including performance management, coaching, and identifying training needs. Monitors and supports the delivery of evidence-based care in accordance with facility policies and regulatory standards. Facilitates communication between interdisciplinary teams to promote collaboration and continuity of care. Promotes a culture of accountability and excellence in patient safety, quality outcomes, and patient satisfaction. Participates in initiatives aimed at reducing variation in clinical practice and improving efficiency, effectiveness, and cost containment. Supports patient throughput by managing admissions, transfers, and discharges to optimize bed utilization and care transitions. Analyzes and responds to patient and family feedback to enhance the patient experience and service recovery efforts. Performs other duties as assigned. Complies with all policies and standards.

Qualifications

Associate Degree in Nursing required Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (BSN) preferred 3-5 years of clinical nursing experience in a telemetry or acute care setting required 1-2 years of leadership, charge nurse, or supervisory experience preferred

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Strong clinical knowledge of telemetry and acute care practices. Ability to lead and support staff in a dynamic, fast-paced healthcare environment. Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills. Proficient in use of electronic health records and clinical documentation systems. Understanding of quality improvement methodologies and patient safety principles. Ability to analyze data, identify trends, and implement performance improvement strategies.

Licenses and Certifications

RN - Registered Nurse - State Licensure and/or Compact State Licensure required BCLS - Basic Life Support required ACLS - Advanced Cardiac Life Support required
