The Opportunity:

CACI is seeking an intermediate-level Engineer to provide critical gun weapon systems engineering support to the Self Defense Systems Division of the Naval Surface Warfare Center. As a vital member of our highly knowledgeable and experienced team, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the capability, supportability, and readiness of Navy fleet gun weapon systems. ​

Responsibilities:

Engineering Support: Provide intermediate-level engineering support to the U.S. Navy for all variants of the Close-In Weapon System (CIWS), including Phalanx, SeaRAM, and LPWS. This support encompasses production, testing, fielding, and maintenance activities.

Deviation and Waiver Review: Review deviations and waivers to support production activities at the Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) facilities, ensuring compliance and efficiency.

Collaboration with OEM: Collaborate with the OEM to implement design improvements, develop maintenance requirements, and address obsolescence issues to enhance system performance and longevity.

Test Requirements and Plans: Assist in developing test requirements, updating test plans, and analyzing technical problems related to software and electronics issues to ensure system reliability.

Field Issue Resolution: Work to resolve complex issues experienced in the field to ensure the CIWS systems operate optimally, minimizing downtime and maximizing effectiveness.

Qualifications:

Required: 

Security Clearance: Active Secret Security Clearance.

Education: Minimum Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or related disciplines.

Experience: Minimum 6 years of engineering experience.

Desired:

Relevant Experience: Engineering experience related to DOD gun weapon systems or other complex electro-mechanical systems is highly desirable.

Technical Skills: Ability to interpret engineering drawings, electrical schematics, and other complex technical documentation.

Communication Skills: Strong communication skills (verbal and written) to effectively collaborate with team members and stakeholders.

Microsoft Office: Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office suite of products.

Pay Range: There are a host of factors that can influence final salary including, but not limited to, geographic location, Federal Government contract labor categories and contract wage rates, relevant prior work experience, specific skills and competencies, education, and certifications. The proposed salary range for this position is:

$71,500 - $150,200
