As an Associate on the Strategy & Business Development team, you will manage mission-critical projects that range from developing growth strategies and assessing new market entry plans to implementing organizational restructurings, operational efficiencies, and pre and post-deal merger & acquisition projects. These projects are typically team-based and involve close collaboration with senior executives. Your primary focus will be on the $3.0 Trillion Assets Under Supervision Wealth Management Solutions business, which is responsible for creating and managing investment and non-investment products, solutions, and services across wealth management. This includes areas such as sales & trading, brokerage, Chief Investment Office/investment management/managed investments, advisory, alternatives, retirement, workplace, deposits, trusts & estates, mortgages, and insurances. You may also have opportunities to be cross-staffed across the broader Asset & Wealth Management (AWM) Strategy team based on your interests and availability.
In this position, you will play a pivotal role in advancing key projects. Your responsibilities will include conducting and managing detailed analyses, creating comprehensive presentations related to strategic planning, business enhancement, and optimization, and participating in various internal consulting initiatives. You will collaborate closely with senior team members, conducting analysis and research, and working extensively with colleagues across Asset and Wealth Management, including investment professionals, product owners, and functional teams. This role offers you the opportunity to formulate and present recommendations to senior leadership and engage in regular interactions with senior management.
Job Responsibilities:
Perform competitive and market sizing analyses, including profiling competitors’ offerings / strategies and identifying factors driving growth or change in industry structureIdentify and develop growth strategies based on identifying customer segments, buying behaviors, and customer value propositionsTranslate growth strategies into operational initiatives by modeling business decisions, determining cost structures / drivers, and assessing financial impactsDefine operating models and address related organizational design and governance issues, such as devising coverage models or defining client segments to differentiate service strategiesManage or facilitate inter-Line of Business or intra-Line of Business initiativesDrive development of key leadership communication and strategy materials (including for Investor Day and annual Operating Committee off-sites)Assess strategic rationale and drivers of value in potential mergers and acquisitions transactions
Required qualifications, capabilities and skills:
3+ years of experience in Strategy consulting with a top-tier management consulting firm, in internal consulting / on a corporate strategy team, in a front office financial services role (e.g., private banker, investment specialist, portfolio management, etc.), or experience working at a wealthtech or similar fintech companyAbility to provide structure in ambiguous situations and apply analytical tools to develop solutionsStrong client management and executive-level communication skillsStrong PowerPoint and Excel skillsOpen, collaborative, team-oriented operating styleBachelor's degree requiredPreferred qualifications, capabilities and skills:
