Wave Solder Technician - 2nd Shift

As a Wave Solder Technician at Miller Electric, you’ll be responsible for setting up, maintaining, and operating the wave solder machine, flux unit, water wash unit, solder pot and selective solder equipment. In this role, you will play a key part in ensuring the quality of soldered PC boards by inspecting products and recognizing defects according to IPC-A-610 Class 2 standards. What you will Do and Impact:

Setup & Operation: Efficiently set up, operate, and maintain the wave solder machine, flux unit, water wash system, solder pot, and select solder equipmentProfile Management: Create, modify, and maintain soldering profiles to ensure consistency and high-quality outputs.Troubleshooting: Proactively troubleshoot and resolve any equipment or process issues to keep production flowing without interruption.Equipment Maintenance: Perform regular cleaning and maintenance of all equipment to keep it in optimal working condition.Training & Mentorship: Train and mentor fellow Wave Solder Technicians, Wave Solder Operators, and Clippers to maintain a skilled team.Cross-Training: Participate in cross-training and assist in other areas as required to meet the demands of our customers.Flexibility: Work hours may vary depending on workload, and overtime or weekend work (including Saturdays) may be required with short notice.Clean & Organized Workspace: Ensure your assigned area is kept clean, organized, and free of any safety hazards.Safety Compliance: Adhere to all safety and health regulations as directed by your supervisor and comply with the Business Unit’s ESD policy.

What you need to do to be successful:

High School Diploma or equivalent3 years of experience with wave solder machine operation and maintenance2 years of experience creating and managing profilesStrong knowledge of wave soldering methods, solder, flux, and RoHS processesAbility to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for up to 12 hoursGood communication and intermediate computer skillsGood eyesight, hand dexterity, and ability to solder to IPC-A-610 Class 2 standardsAbility to follow assembly drawings and product specificationsWillingness to cross-train and work overtime as neededAssociate Degree in Electro Mechanical or Electronics Preferred
