About the Role & Team

Join our Water Sciences team as a Water Sciences Operations Manager, where you'll play a vital role in leading and supporting our frontline Water Sciences Operations Technicians, with occasional oversight of Dive Technicians. You will be responsible for aspects of the coordination and function of the multiple specialty water treatment operations, resolve technical challenges, and ensure strict adherence to water quality standards—all crucial for the Walt Disney World Animal Programs Water Sciences Systems.

If selected for this full-time salaried role, you will report to the Water Sciences Senior Operations Manager.

What You Will DoOversee daily operations of water filtration and disinfection systems to maintain optimal water qualityLead and support Water Sciences Technicians, with occasional responsibility for Dive Technicians as neededConduct water quality analysis and testing of critical system componentsMonitor filtration automation and track key water treatment parametersCoordinate system outages to minimize downtime and ensure animal habitats remain safe during maintenanceDevelop staff schedules to support 24-hour monitoring of life support systemsWork a structured 4-day, 10-hour schedule, with flexibility for occasional 3rd shift assignments based on operational needs

Required Qualifications & SkillsDocumented experience in the operation of and application of specialized water treatment systemsProven ability to supervise and lead technical personnelIn depth knowledge of Water Sciences/Life Support systems design and functionKnowledge of applied water chemistry principles and water distribution processesFamiliarity with computer automation, filtration, and disinfection systemsAbility to read and interpret technical drawings/schematicsProficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Access, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook)Strong problem-solving skills with a proactive approach to issue resolutionMinimum three years of combined education and industry experienceExperience with work scheduling methods and operational planningExcellent communication and team collaboration skills across multiple disciplinesPrior management or leadership experience is preferred

EducationHigh School Degree or equivalent
