This includes the coordination of capital improvement projects for water treatment systems, distribution systems, and related infrastructure. The position ensures that projects are completed on time, within budget, and in compliance with local, state, and federal regulations. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, the ability to collaborate across departments, and a problem-solving mindset, ensuring high-quality and sustainable water resources management. **Distinguishing Features of the Class:** This role encompasses both project management and technical oversight of water infrastructure projects, including planning, budgeting, scheduling, regulatory compliance, and contractor management. It involves working directly with consultants, coordinating with stakeholders, and leading the planning and execution of improvements and maintenance for the city's water treatment and distribution systems, and related facilities. **Job Duties** **Job Duties:** + Serve as project supervisor for water utility projects, including treatment plant, distribution system, and related infrastructure. + Develop project scopes, budgets, and schedules, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards. + Supervise and manage the design, bidding, and execution of projects, including consultant and contractor selection and contract management. + Prepare and review technical reports, engineering designs, and construction specifications for water-related projects. + Conduct feasibility studies, environmental impact assessments, and technical analyses to inform project planning and decisions. + Monitor project progress, budget, and timelines, proactively resolving issues and ensuring projects stay on track. + Act as liaison between the project team, clients, regulatory agencies, contractors, and other stakeholders. + Coordinate project procurement, ensuring that all materials and services comply with regulatory and quality standards. + Oversee project closeout, ensuring proper documentation, compliance checks, and final inspections are completed. + Provide leadership in the development of annual work plans and capital improvement budgets for water utility and stormwater projects. + Ensure that projects meet environmental standards, water quality and safety requirements. + Stay current with developments in engineering standards and regulatory changes. + Assist with the development of water utility policies, standards, and best practices. **Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:** + Engineering and Technology - Knowledge of the practical application of engineering science and technology.
