Jacobs is seeking a Licensed Wastewater Operator, based in Roseburg,OR. As an operator you’ll work with project staff to perform maintenance of equipment and quality control testing. Partnering with other team members you’ll apply knowledge of the principles, methods and tools employed in the general operation of engines, pumps, valves, motors and related equipment, wastewater process control and safe work practices. You’ll also have the opportunity to: monitor, record and operate the wastewater treatment plant, recharge and SCADA system; diagnose operating problems, analyze recording instrument readings and laboratory test results and adjust various plant processes accordingly, perform plant inspections to determine efficiency of operations, cleanliness, and maintenance activities including remedial action in emergencies. Bring your team-focus, adaptability, and commitment to excellence, and we’ll help you grow what drives you - and deliver the world’s most challenging Operations Management projects, together. #omfs #bia #ourjacobs Essential Duties and Responsibilities: · Operates treatment facilities to control flow and processing of wastewater, sludge, and effluent · Monitors gauges, meters, and control panels · Observes variations in operating conditions and interprets meter and gauge readings · Operates valves and gates either manually or by remote control · Starts and stops pumps, engines, and generators to control and adjust flow and treatment processes · Maintains shift log and records meter and gauge readings · Collects samples and performs routine laboratory tests and analyses · Performs routine maintenance functions and custodial duties · Make operating decisions in absence of supervisory personnel · Understands and carries out oral and written directions · Establishes and maintains cooperative relationships with those contacted during the course of work · Performs other duties as required · High school diploma or GED · Oregon Wastewater Treatment Grade 1 License · One year of experience in operating wastewater treatment plants · Possess a valid driver’s license Ideally, You'll Also Have: · Oregon Wastewater Treatment Grade 2 License · Class B Commercial Drivers License · 3 years of experience in operating wastewater treatment plants Working Conditions & Physical Requirements: Safety is a core value at Jacobs.
