Waste Water Operator- B Shift- RVI-Hanceville, AL

Job Details:

This position involves various responsibilities related to the operation and maintenance of wastewater treatment systems. Duties include, but are not limited to, managing a wastewater analysis laboratory, maintaining wastewater collection and pre-treatment systems, and overseeing full treatment systems. Specific activities may include:

Collecting samples for analysis in compliance with EPA, state, and health department regulations.Conducting chemical analyses both in and out of a laboratory setting.Adjusting systems based on chemical analysis results to ensure regulatory compliance.Making informed decisions to maintain compliance.Performing mathematical calculations using basic algebraic formulas and a calculator.Completing computerized reports and compiling information for monthly reports required by permits, state authorities, EPA, or corporate management.Utilizing basic organizational, mechanical, and electrical wiring skills.Communicating operational status to upper management.Maintaining operations logs.Performing maintenance on equipment ranging from minor to major repairs.Operating a spotter truck and/or forklift.Groundskeeping, painting, general housekeeping, and other duties as needed.The schedule rotates every 8 weeks, but currently, this position works Friday, Saturday, Sunday, and Monday from 6 pm to 6 am.Requirements:

Education: High School diploma or equivalent.

Experience: Preferably 1+ years of wastewater experience.

Computer Skills: Basic computer skills with knowledge of Word and Excel.

Communication Skills: Good interpersonal and communication skills are critical.

Certification: Must complete a storm water training program selected by site management within thirty days. Additionally, must complete "Industrial Waste Treatment, Volume I" and "Industrial Waste Treatment, Volume II" correspondence courses through California State University Sacramento within twelve months. Must obtain the lowest grade certification program within twelve months or as required by state regulations.

Other Requirements: Must have a valid driver's license and be required to obtain higher levels of certification and training up to Level A at this facility. Must meet and maintain the minimum qualification levels as required by state regulations.

Physical Requirements: Ability to lift heavy objects (50-75 pounds), climb or descend stairs or ladders, work in unsanitary conditions, and handle hazardous chemicals.

Supervisory: None.

Travel: 1 to 2 trips per year.
