Key Responsibilities:
To provide overall technical supports in program research, census activities, new initiatives and data management related to Water, Sanitation & Hygiene (WASH) at Wahana Visi Indonesia. Support utilizing WASH data from census, baseline, evaluation, monitoring, formative research, etc to gain learning, evidence and practical program improvement. This position will support WVI and stakeholder’s capacity in WASH research initiative including data collection and management. This role seeks to establish a vibrant learning culture where data is systematically transformed into information and then into knowledge that leads to change – an environment where innovations are encouraged, documented and shared across the program; and where credible evidence improves program practice and decision making.
Strategy Development & Planning
Identify and develop research plan that aligned with WASH program strategies.
Support national and sub national efforts in developing WASH data management and census plans.
Support managing and establishing data management capacity of staff and stakeholders.
Support developing action plan on WASH program fundamentals mainly in Applied Learning, Reporting and Communication.
Support strategic method to leverage program reputation and impact
Resource Acquisition & Management
Support new initiative, funding opportunities, research opportunity and proposal development related to WASH.
Provide budgeting framework for WASH research and data management activities
Capacity Building/ Technical Works
Facilitate capacity building for staff and stakeholders on WASH census and data management
Provide technical support to implement WASH census activities at the sub national or AP/project levels.
Support program team in developing activities and budget framework related to WASH research, census and data management.
Facilitate program team and stakeholders in capacity building
Support developing data hub and visualization for internal and external purpose
Promote ongoing reflection and learning among staff and partners
Accountability & Quality Assurance
Provide WASH quality information to support program design, implementation, continues improvement and decision making.
Support collecting learnings, experiences, documents on WASH applied learnings.
Support sharing data managements and utilization learnings across partnership
Support quality report on WASH data meeting global standards.
Networking and Coordination
Build and maintain strong and regular external engagement with stakeholders providing WASH data at national and sub national levels.
Participate in the global WASH community of practice
Ensure multi-sectoral integration in data capture and activities as guided by WASH strategy or country profile
Represent WVI’s WASH sector to external audiences to increase technical branding and generate resource development opportunities.
Support WASH data management coordination with stakeholders in district-wide USC.
Management & Leadership
Develop and manage annual performance agreement
Submits periodical/ monthly accomplishment report.
Build and maintain positive spirit of working in team with other staff in respective unit and department.
Provide Christian value and support to enrich the organization's life, faith, Christian commitments and ministry to the disadvantaged children and communities we seek to serve.
Be a role model and inspiration in managing work, communication and relationship with internal staff and external parties.
Manage all risks related to WASH research, census, data management according to organization policies, guidelines, and standard. This includes risks in fraud, safeguarding, and other related risks.
Required Education, training, license, registration, and/or Certification
Preferably master degree in Statistic, Public Health, Environmental Health, Environment, Geography, or other development studies and relevant degrees.
Training or certification in statistic, data management or research related is a plus
Required Professional Experience
A minimum of 3 years’ progressive experience in program research and data management.
Experiences working in community development works, and in implementing various research approach related to WASH.
Required Language(s)
Proficiency in English language skills, both written and spoken (equal min. 500 TOEFL)
Required travel and/or work environment accommodations
Travel 25 - 35% (including international)
Preferred Experience, Knowledge and/or other Qualifications
Solid computer skills
Strong interpersonal and facilitation skills.
Ability to effectively transfer information to various audiences through trainings, workshops, meetings, etc.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including report writing and formal communication
Cross-cultural sensitivity and ability to work with a wide range of people from different backgrounds
