About Your Role:
As the Warranty Manager, you will balance technical problem-solving with strategic leadership, ensuring warranty obligations and commercial targets are achieved. With two direct reports, you will also mentor and inspire your team to work collaboratively, manage risks, and deliver excellence across customer interfaces, supplier relationships, and rolling stock operations.
Your ability to build strong relationships with customers, guide your team through technical and commercial challenges, and lead by example will define success in this important leadership role.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead warranty management processes, ensuring reliability and availability milestones are met.Support and develop a team of two direct reports, mentoring them to ensure successful delivery of project and team goals.Oversee steady-state commercial contract management, ensuring compliance, risk mitigation, and cost-effective outcomes.Represent UGL in customer-facing interactions, ensuring strong relationships and proactive issue resolution.Collaborate with suppliers and internal teams to identify, assess, and mitigate risks.Drive influence in problem-solving and product development by employing root cause analysis and sustainable solutions.Utilise ERP systems (SAP preferred) to monitor warranty claims and ensure process efficiency.
About You:
To thrive in this role, you will have:
Proven experience in the rolling stock industry, specifically in warranty, maintenance, or operational support.Demonstrated leadership skills, with experience managing and mentoring team members.Expertise in customer-facing roles, including account and supplier management.Experience in risk assessment, mitigation, and execution of commercial contracts.Proficiency with ERP systems (SAP preferred) to manage contracts, track performance, and identify issues.Strong leadership and motivational skills to foster collaboration and team success.Exceptional problem-solving and decision-making abilities that influence positive outcomes.Advanced interpersonal and communication skills across internal and external stakeholders.Resilience and adaptability to navigate challenges and balance competing priorities.
Education:
Tertiary qualifications in Engineering or a related technical field (preferred) or equivalent industry experience.
