POSITION SUMMARY: The Warehouse Worker II, under general supervision, has primary responsibility for receiving, storing, packing, picking, and transfer, of products, supplies and raw materials. Responsible for maintaining a safe, clean, and orderly warehouse. Transacts and maintains stock records and kanban system. Coordinates activities of employees in warehouse and receiving. With Supervisor, supports the administration of cycle count program, and warehouse/inventory activities. This job function directly ☒ indirectly ☐ affects product quality. PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES: Follows all safety and company policies and rules. Follows Good Manufacturing Practices, quality policies and ISO procedures. May direct the activities of employees involved in receiving, storage, picking, and packing, and transfer of goods. Receives raw materials and supplies from vendors and performs appropriate system transactions. Loads and unloads trucks using forklift, or other approved equipment Maintains Receiving Log Book for all non P.O. items Distributes received goods and/or receiving paperwork as required Places received materials in designated warehouse areas Accurately maintains inventory control systems (AX, GP and WHP) Distributes raw materials and supplies to various departments as assigned Receives WIP materials from the Molding Department and transacts in system accordingly Distributes WIP material to Packaging Completes necessary inventory control paperwork Maintains manual count of non-inventory items Conducts daily cycle counts as scheduled and/or as directed by Supervisor Maintains cleanliness of warehouse Communicates with coworkers and supervisors in a professional manner Assists as necessary in any area of material movement as requested Follows scrap procedure Can correctly identify materials properly Identifies, segregates, and communicates non-conformities in products, shipping and warehouse processes and equipment, and assists in resolution of the problems causing the nonconformities. Tracks and follows-up on part shortages. Ensures that department service goals are met for on-time delivery and order accuracy with efficiency and high quality. Responsible for proper handling and storage of products, maintaining inventory accuracy, and adhering to FIFO and FEFO (expiration) methods for storing and shipping product. Executes and reconciles cycle count program. Identifies opportunities and with supervisor, Implements changes to improve efficiency, reduce costs, and control scrap. Records and tracks receiving and warehouse performance metrics and with supervisor, addresses deviations in performance. Works with technical support staff in the area of test equipment in order to repair, recalibrate and modify equipment as needed. Trains and cross-trains staff to achieve maximum flexibility during peak or off-peak periods. Provides assistance to Warehouse Workers relative to progress of work, resolution of problems, and assurance that standards for quality and quantity of work are met. May provide feedback to supervisor on warehouse employee performance. Verifies that proper regulatory procedures, work instructions, and forms are in effect and are being closely followed by department staff. Investigates and reports on complaints in accordance to complaint handling process. May Develop written departmental procedures and work instructions. May cross-train in various functions in shipping and throughout the business. Performs other duties as assigned or needed. REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, and ABILITIES: Ability to train personnel on procedures/work instructions and perform continuous improvement activities. Ability to tactically organize and manage work assignments in accordance with quality and customer service expectations. Knowledge of inventory management processes, including receiving, kanbans and cycle counting. Good communication, analytical and interpersonal skills, including problem solving and team motivation skills. Thorough knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices and ISO procedures Dependability and ability to adapt to change are essential. Ability to read, write and communicate in English. Bilingual in Spanish preferred. Attention to detail and problem solving skills. Ability to communicate with and motivate team members. Ability to communicate effectively with employees at all levels. Ability to prioritize and multitask as well as meet deadlines. Ability to exercise good judgment in evaluating situations and proposing solutions. Ability to identify areas of opportunity within the department that will result in efficiencies and improvements that add value to the organization. Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, including unit of measure conversions. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations. May be required to operate company owned or leased vehicles and trucks. Must have safe driving record, valid driver license, and be able to pass DMV background check. Ability to safely operate company owned or leased vehicles on public and private roads. OTHER REQUIREMENTS (SPECIALIZED): 2-3 years experience working in a warehouse operation required. 2-3 years experience leading teams in a shipping and/or warehouse operation. 2-3 years experience leading in a warehouse preferred. Experience with inventory transactions using a warehouse management system required. Receiving experience required. Shipping experience required. Strong ERP system skills, including the ability to understand and troubleshoot inventory transaction errors and inventory variances. Knowledge of receiving freight logistics including safety and damage handling procedures. Must be proficient in Microsoft Office including communication in Outlook Word, Excel, PowerPoint as applicable with the ability to learn other programs as necessary. SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: DENTSPLY SIRONA JOB DESCRIPTION Page 3 of 3 This position has no direct supervisory personnel oversight responsibilities, but leads a team of warehouse workers to tactically meet the needs of the business. May recommend work schedules to department supervisor in accordance with department and business needs. EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATIONS: High School Diploma or GED is preferred. ENVIRONMENTAL REQUIREMENTS: Primarily a warehouse environment; must be able to use all warehouse equipment. Some office clerical duties requiring PC, phone, fax, copier, etc. Exposure to a general manufacturing environment. Majority of work within an air conditioned environment. Occasional work required in unconditioned warehouse and outside environments. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Must be able to stand for at least 4 hours at a time. Must be able to sit for at least 4 hours at a time. Have normal eye/hand motor coordination and the ability to grasp and hold small objects. Must be able to climb stairs. Must be able to climb ladders. Must be able to safely operate a forklift. Must be able to walk, bend, stoop, twist, reach with hands and arms several times a shift. Possess a normal extended reach. Consistently uses manual dexterity. Have the ability to determine color acuity. Ability to lift up to 55 pounds, ability to transfer/slide materials weighing up to 70 pounds from rack to waiver or lifting table, climb ladder and carry up to 30 pounds.
