General Summary:

Responsible for the development and/or coordination of integrated logistics strategies, including supply chain management. This includes coordinating, routing, and preparing trade documents for domestic and international shipments on behalf of an assigned business unit, project, or division. Supports and troubleshoots a variety of projects and issues on a daily basis on behalf of assigned internal customers. Might work with freight carriers, service vendors, and/or internal functional groups. 

Minimum Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• 5+ years of Logistics or related work experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

•    Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, International Business, Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or related field.

•    7+ years of customs clearance, shipment scheduling, planning, coordinating, or related work experience.

•    2+ years of work experience in a role requiring interaction with senior leadership (e.g., Director level and above).

•    1+ year in a leadership role with or without direct reports (only applies to positions with direct reports).

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
•    Facilitates the coordination and implementation of integrated logistics strategies.
•    Works with customers, third-party manufacturers, and internal teams globally to troubleshoot complex or ambiguous shipment-related issues. Helps others to do the same.
•    Prepares customs clearance documents, works with broker for import filing, clears on duty exemption versus duty paid as per guidelines, verifies HS codes and duty rates, approves broker filed checklist, updates LCT (Logistics Compliance Tool). Decides on bonding versus duty paid, meets with external organizations (e.g., customs and STPI [Software Technology Parts of India]). 
•    Oversees the receipt of import, export, IUT (Inter-unit transfers), approvals, debonding, and destruction from pertinent organizations (e.g., STPI, SEZ [Special Economic Zone], Customs EPC [Export Promotion Council] and provides recommendations and logistical support for  highly complex customs support efforts. 
•    Renews multiple licenses (e.g., STPI, SEZ, Customs, IEC) to ensure consistent and ongoing relationships with existing agencies; includes identifying expiration dates and initiating renewal prior to license expiration date.         
•    Files monthly, quarterly, and yearly returns and reports with required organizations (e.g., STPI, SEZ, and EPC) to inform import and export performance on behalf of the organization.             
•    Guides others to select freight carriers. Helps create and implement freight carrier routing protocols. Helps negotiate freight carrier rates and addresses complex payment questions.
•    Provides constructive and actionable feedback on freight supplier’s performance and provides input to freight carrier RFP’s/RFQ’s. Measures and ensures compliance to company policies and procedures, and ISO Shipping/Export Processes.
•    Establishes and implements plans for regulatory requirements that affect logistics operations. Acts as a logistics liaison with regulatory groups.
•    Works with individuals internally and externally to integrate complex projects and ensure changes work with other components of a specific project.
•    Communicates within and outside of project team to resolve conflicts in implementation schedules, design or implementation challenges, and other complexities.
•    Re-scopes projects, identifies resources, delegates work, and reviews the work of team members in order to address changing timelines or priorities.

Level of Responsibility:  
•    Works independently with little supervision.
•    Provides supervision to direct reports.
•    Decisions are moderate in nature. Errors are detected and corrected with relatively minor financial impact or effect on projects, operations, or customer relationships. May require involvement beyond immediate work group to correct.
•    Requires verbal and written communication skills to convey information that may be somewhat complex to others who may have limited knowledge of the subject in question. Role may require basic negotiation and influence, cooperation, tact, and diplomacy, etc. 
•    Has a moderate amount of influence over key organizational decisions (e.g., is consulted by senior leadership to make key decisions).
•    Most tasks do not have defined steps; simultaneous use of multiple mental abilities is generally required to determine the best approach; mistakes may result in significant rework.
•    Substantial creativity is needed to innovate new processes, procedures, or work products within guidelines or to achieve established objectives.
•    Deductive and inductive problem solving is required; multiple approaches may be taken/necessary to solve the problem; often information is missing or conflicting; advanced data analysis and interpretation skills are required. 
•    Occasionally participates in strategic planning within own area affecting immediate operations.
