Warehouse Porter - Portero de almacén
Job Description

The warehouse porter is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness, organization, and safety of a warehouse facility. This includes tasks like cleaning floors, emptying trash, and assisting with the movement of materials within the warehouse. They may also be involved in receiving and storing items, preparing orders for shipment, and operating some basic warehouse equipment. 



Work Experience
General Cleaning:Sweeping, mopping, dusting, and vacuuming floors and surfaces in the warehouse and potentially office areas. Trash Removal:Emptying trash cans and recycling bins, transporting waste to designated disposal areas. Spill Clean-up:Handling spills of various materials, including damaged product, oil, grease, and broken glass, using appropriate cleaning supplies and equipment. Restroom Cleaning:Maintaining the cleanliness of restrooms within the warehouse. Equipment Cleaning:Cleaning and maintaining warehouse equipment like forklifts, pallet jacks, and other machinery. General Upkeep:Performing tasks like hanging signs, replacing light bulbs, and painting as needed. 

Material Handling and Organization:

Receiving and Storage:Receiving incoming materials, checking for damage, and properly storing items in designated locations. Order Preparation:Assisting with picking, packing, and preparing orders for shipment or delivery. Inventory Management:Helping with inventory counts and maintaining accurate stock records. Equipment Operation:Operating basic material handling equipment like pallet jacks and potentially forklifts, if trained and certified. Stock Rotation:Assisting with rotating stock to ensure product freshness and prevent spoilage. 

Safety and Compliance:

Hazard Identification:Conducting daily property walks to identify and report potential hazards. Safety Procedures:Adhering to all safety procedures and guidelines related to warehouse operations. Maintaining a Clean and Safe Environment:Ensuring the warehouse remains a safe and organized space for all employees. Following Instructions:Taking direction from supervisors and working both independently and as part of a team. Reporting Discrepancies:Notifying supervisors of any inventory discrepancies, damaged items, or safety concerns.
