We are looking for a highly energetic, result oriented, passionate, and hands-on Materials Manager with a desire to join a growing team. The person should be able to support project logistics management as well as plan, direct, and coordinate the activities involved in purchasing materials, products, and services, including maintaining a just in time model to ensure the material is delivered to the datacenter site when needed. The primary purpose of this position is to ensure that the company has the proper amount of product required for the completion of respective projects. It is the incumbent’s responsibility to ensure that suppliers meet the company’s targets for quality, delivery, and total cost of acquisition. The material manager will source products and place Purchase Orders per established Purchasing Best Practices. The position is also charged with establishing the appropriate strategies to enhance product quality and reduce costs. They will hold suppliers accountable within the assigned categories based on established company goals. In addition, this position customarily and regularly exercises discretion and independent judgment when buying products for the company, evaluates and implements additions, deletions, and consolidations for products, solicits product information and promotional opportunities from suppliers and communicates this information to management. They maximize fill-rates, increases GMROI for products, and minimize replenishment costs. The position also requires the management of project logistics activities including but not limited to the storage, receiving, inventory, disposition, and shipping of materials. **ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES** + Analyzes BOMs to evaluate, research and attain all procured materials for respective projects + Creates a systematic approach to ordering materials to minimize inventory level and shipping costs + Creates a positive working relationship with materials vendors + Assist with the bidding process when appropriate by offering pricing schedules of relevant supplies and materials + Manages supply-chain issues with suppliers to ensure on-time product availability + Documents and organizes deliveries and product returns. + Management and execution of purchase orders + Maintains purchase order confirmations + Manages special orders + Complete tracking of shipment from purchase order to delivery and manages all shipping charges + Develops tools and procedures to improve the procurement cycle + Provides courteous, professional service to customers + Manage project logistics functions to serve the project needs + Partner with organizational operations team to drive efficient logistics and material management processes Key Performance Indicators + Inventory Turns + MOS - Months of Supply + Excess & Dead Inventory - as a % of overall inventory + Fill Rates (On Time Delivery) + PO Confirmation Lead Times + PO Cost Reduction **QUALIFICATIONS** + At least 8 years of purchasing experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience. + Good computer skills, especially in Microsoft Office. + Integrated Financial System and/or ERP Software experience, such as Commerce Center, J.D.
