About this Role

The Warehouse Group Leader position is an important role on the Silgan Dispensing team and is a great opportunity for those looking to advance their skills. Our plant helps produce thousands of our dispensing products each day. So, it’s important to keep it running efficiently and continuously. Here’s a list of duties that our Warehouse Group Leader performs on a typical day:

Monitors the unloading of all materials into the warehouse; ensures materials are verified and put away; ensures receiving is accurate in SAP. Resolves discrepancies with accounting regarding invoices, packing slips, and receipts. Oversees the movement of material from receiving to the warehouse in an efficient, effective, and safe manner.Oversees the supplying of materials to Production in the other facilities and stages / coordinates for transport via company truck. Ensures materials are stored and transported properly to conserve space and comply with safety procedures. Oversees the rotation of inventories within the warehouse.Responsible for shipping of all finished goods to customers from Torrington warehouse.  Works with shippers on customer portals, with freight carriers and with CS team to ensure on-time and accurate shipping of all orders.  Works with ground (FTL, LTL and small parcel) international ocean and AIR carriers and logistics providers for outbound and inbound shipments of materials and goods.Responsible for cycle count program of finished good warehouse location.  Ensures cycle counts are performed on schedule and recommends/executes actions to address root cause of inventory discrepancies. Assists with Work cycles:  service PO's, leasing PO's, (Schenker, Geodis, local carriers - ABF, OD, XPO)Works with requests from the business for pick-ups, shipping of raw materials (NPD), freight quotes, etc.  Assist with setting up or tracking of Trucking / AIR expedites.Ensure daily Foam supply of component needs from PR / THO - generate pick tickets (moves parts into T-DOC), hand off to be pulled, transact next day into 955 PR or 955 TO)Oversees receiving (Master coil, Menschen, Hoffer, Action Tech, Alkmaar, LTP)Schedule overseas containers:  chassis carrier (Golden Carriers) - done by appointment.  Match packing slip to goods (match our p/n from packing list to their boxes).  Ensure parts are labeled with our pallet ID labelEnsure timely audits of product coming in our truck from PR/THO - this should be audited every 3 days

Education/ Previous Experience:

High School diploma or GED, Associates Degree is preferred.Three - Five years related work experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education & experience.Must be detail oriented, and organizedMust have excellent communication skills, verbal and written.Must have strong interpersonal skills1-2 years’ experience working with SAPMust be proficient using Microsoft Excel and WordMust have hands-on material handling experienceAnalytical and problem-solving skills are essentialAbility to prioritize work is essential to be successful
