What Warehouse Operations contributes to Cardinal Health

Operations is responsible for materials handling and product distribution in a distribution or manufacturing environment. Includes warehousing and fulfillment of materials and products, transportation, inventory management as well as demand, supply and manufacturing planning.

Warehouse Operations is responsible for performing/controlling a combination of manual or automated tasks necessary for the receipt, storage, and shipment of product. This may include functions of receiving, picking, packing, shipping, staging, transporting, storage, delivery, etc. Also responsible for the efficient flow of products from the point of product receipt from vendors to the shipment of products (via prescribed service parameters) to a variety of internal and external customers.

 

Responsibilities

Follows standard operating procedures and audit warehouse operations to facilitate successful operational activities within the warehouse.Ensure that safety, productivity and quality standards are metCoordinate housekeeping, inventory control, and complying with all QRA and safety requirementsDirectly supporting employees in the distribution center in all functionsPerform warehouse responsibilities for a medical distribution center Operate multiple material handling equipment (Forklift, Cherry Picker, Reach, Walkie Rider) Process orders including accurately picking, checking, sorting, consolidating freight, wrapping pallets, packing, loading, and shipment confirmation of customer.Demonstrate multi-function expertise and leadership skills to assign work, monitor area performance and suggest process improvementAccurately and efficiently performs several operational tasks, including trouble shooting and researchPerform several or specialized warehouse operations functions within the operating guidelines of the facilityDirectly supporting employees in the warehouse across all functions, including: Order processing (accurately picking, checking, sorting, cycle counting, consolidating freight, wrapping pallets, packing, and loading products)Provide recommendations using labor planning moves with other leads and supervisors


Qualifications

High School Diploma or GED preferred4+ years work experience preferred;Prior distribution center experience preferred.Independent self-starter with a drive to succeed and a strong emphasis on results with ability to motivate others and significantly contribute in a team environment to accomplish goals.  Excellent interpersonal, organizational and follow up skills in addition to analytical skills and problem solving skills strongly preferred.Computer experience using Microsoft Office preferred (Excel, Access, and Word).  Ability to work in a position that requires prolonged standing, frequent bending, stooping, and reaching with ability to lift up to 50 pounds on a regular basis.
