As a Warehouse Group Leader (GL1) with Hoosier Racing Tire, this position is a floor-level process leader who reports directly to the Logistics Manager. The GL1 position helps to meet warehousing goals by insuring our employees have a safe work environment and are providing quality work by following the proper specifications and work procedures. **HOW YOU WILL MAKE AN IMPACT** + Ensure employees are using proper PPE and following safe and approved work practices. + Report to the GL2 all safety issues that arise and help in the correction of these issues. + Ensure the processes of loading and unloading receiving and shipping containers/trailers are done properly, and perform any trailer and/or container inspections. + Monitor the process of moving the product through the warehouse. + Assist in work processes – loading/off-loading. + Communicate any quality issues to GL2. + Communicate with GL2 on any issues related to maintenance, building & grounds, or equipment. + Keeping work areas neat, clean, and orderly to maintain a safe work environment. + Constantly work to improve your skills and knowledge of the work and product. + Lead by example, have a positive attitude, and a strong work ethic with the ability to motivate and multitask. + Communicate with all department group leaders as necessary. + GL2 will assign daily tasks to GL1 and employees. **NOTE: May not be inclusive of all work required and may be updated as needed.** **THE ENVIRONMENT** + Safety is our highest priority, and safety procedures/guidelines must always be adhered to. This includes safety wear such as steel-toed shoes, hearing protection, and safety glasses as needed + The job is within a non-climate-controlled environment where you will be exposed to temperature swings (hot/cold), forklift and pedestrian traffic, and noise + The role involves various physical tasks, including lifting and operating machinery, with comprehensive training provided. **WHAT YOU BRING TO THE ROLE** + No active written attendance warning. + No active safety write-ups. + Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic, team environment. + Ability to follow instructions written in standard English. + Excellent communication and customer service abilities. + Ability to stand for long periods. + Ability to bend, climb, squat, crawl, reach and twist frequently. + Ability to lift 20-75 lbs. frequently and occasionally up to 100 lbs. plus (with assistance). + Must be able to work overtime, as needed. + Legal authorization to work in the U.S. is required.
