Responsible for the appropriate storage and transactions of received items to bins, transaction of components and finished goods to the designated locations, maintaining tote and skid locations to set levels and accuracte outbound distribution of finished goods to fill consumer orders. Works in cross functional group to ensure integrity of inventory and customer orders. Ability to learn computer systems and obtain lift license required
Nature & Scope:
Material Specialist are required to be detail oriented. They may work with others or independently. They must have good math and organization skills. They also must display good communication skills. Must meet OSHA requirements prior to operating moving power equipment.
• Proactive approach to promote and support safe working environment, required to complete Hazardous Observation form as needed, promptly report all safety concerns.
• Counts, weighs or measures incoming or outgoing items to compare identifying information and variety against schedule or orders; examines product and packaging for damage and correct piece counts. Completes paperwork or forms required for documentation.
• Resolves problems utilizing knowledge of shipping/receiving/stock operations.
• Operates material handling equipment such as forklifts, yard-dog/terminal tractor, pallet jacks, hand trucks or dollies to move stock and reorganize storage.
• Participates in routing and counting of all items.
• Performs 5S duties and checklist for work area.
• Labels boxed product, and skidded product; prepares product for Fed Ex shipping and IT truck to Jackson.
• Perform transactions using SAP and WMI.
• Support implementation and organization of finished goods and component warehousing
• Participates in ordering standard stock items, such as recommending additions or deletions to standard stock items or ordering replenishments within established procedures and limits
• Organization and movement of returnable containers and skids throughout facility
• Accurate movement of product from staging area to rack locations
• Drive boxtruck (Penske)

• Ship 100% of parts needed to customer

• Ability to obtain a fork truck license within 30 days
• Ability to train and operate Yard Dog Truck
• Meet physical requirements required to operate Penske and have valid driver’s license
• Must support safety policies and practices that apply to assigned area.

Education and Experience:
High School graduate or GED
Fast-paced team environment is preferred
Prior manufacturing experience is preferred but not required
Ability to interpret reports & analyze data
Computer skills
