As a Department Manager in our Luton Equipment Centre (LEC), you’ll be instrumental in running day-to-day operations of a vital logistics support unit. Reporting to the LEC Team Manager, you’ll have the chance to prove your leadership skills by championing, delegating, motivating, and helping your team of Desk Clerks and Warehouse Operatives to realise their full potential. You’ll bring a proactive and creative approach to ensure everything runs smoothly, from goods intake to inventory management, while making sure our compliance, safety and performance standards are second to none.

What you'll do Be responsible for a department in the RDC. Line managing an amazing team of Desk Clerks and Operatives, through coaching, delegating and training them to succeedManage all operational processes in your area. Receivings, checking, storage, replenishment, outgoings and shift handoversMaintain tight control of inventory and ensure full compliance with Health & Safety and GDPR policiesSupport your Team Manager with operations, compliance and Head Office projects, deputising when requiredTake responsibility for maintaining interdepartmental communication and cross-functional alignmentTake ownership of your team’s work patterns, attendance, performance and workplace environmentAnalyze KPIs, report performance, and drive action for improvementBe responsible for grievance and investigation processes, acting as a disciplinary managerMotivate and support your team, learning from our Company ValuesWhat you'll need Natural confidence and leadership qualities to get the best out of everyone you work withExperience leading your previous team(s) to success, with a clear focus on performance, motivation and developmentThe ability to multi-task and prioritise conflicting deadlines under pressureConfidence in making decisions and prioritizing in a fast-moving logistics environmentA keen eye for detail to effectively control costs, rotas and transport plansAn open communication style that lets you get your message across to anyoneMinimum 2 years professional experience in a similar leadership or logistics roleWhat you'll receive 30-35 days holiday (pro rata)10% in-store discountOngoing trainingPension schemeEnhanced family leavePlus, more of the perks you deserve
