Now Hiring: 2nd Shift Warehouse Associate – Warp Knitting Machine Operator

Ready to work for one of the largest U.S. distributors? PDS Tech Commercial, is seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Warehouse Associate for our client in Waterloo, IA. This is a 6-month temp to hire position with high potential to be hired on permanently.

Location: Waterloo, IA
Employment Type: Temp to Hire - 6 months | On-site

Pay: $17.25/Hourly (weekly pay)

Shift: Monday – Friday 3pm to 11:00pm (Occasional OT)

Position Summary:

Knitting machine operators are responsible for setting up knitting machines, adjusting settings, and starting the machines to begin production. They must ensure that the machines are properly threaded and that the correct yarn is used for the desired product.

Key Responsibilities:

Thread the guide bar: remove the bar, clean and grease and place in threading position. Pull yarn ends forward and with the correct gauge threading set, thread the bar. Using the threading hooks and comb to pull yarn through the guide bar.

Replace the guide bar and align. Check yarn path (make sure no ends are dragging). Tighten warps and signal arms.

Knit fabric in. Make bar adjustments as necessary. Alert fixer to do runner check by signal light.

Follow all company safety rules and regulations and foster safe work habits.

Maintains good housekeeping in the work area and performs other tasks as directed.


Qualifications:

High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Be physically able to handle beam shafts (with help) and hang warps.

Take any action required to assure that vehicles are properly serviced and maintained.

Follow all company safety rules and regulations and foster safe work habits.

Maintains good housekeeping in the work area and performs other tasks as directed.

Performs additional duties as requested, needed, or assigned.

Read, write, and speak and understand in English and Spanish, to interpret documents such as specifications, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, reports, business correspondence, regulatory and procedure manuals.

Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram record data or schedule form.

Ability to follow specific written work instructions and record data and information.

Communicate clearly and effectively with co-workers, Supervisors and Managements.

Work independently with little or no supervision and be self-motivated, detail-oriented, and a team player.

Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.

Ability to multi-task and quickly adapt to a changing environment.

Requires constant visual attention, ability to discern flaws in manufactured production.

Effectively organize, set priorities, schedule assigned work; oversee multiple and rapidly changing priorities.

Required Physical Demands:

Frequent hand, finger, and wrist movement to handle or feel objects, tools, or controls.
Requires standing (80%) and walking (20%).

The employee frequently is required to talk, listen/use hearing, stand, walk, stoop, kneel or crouch, and/or use repetitive hand motions.

Physically able to work hands-on in a manufacturing environment – manual dexterity, visual acuity, and speed.

The employee is occasionally required to climb or balance.

Occasionally lift 50 pounds.



Pay Details: $17.25 per hour
