Job DescriptionScope of Position:
Entails reporting onsite to a large domestic client of Expeditors’ where the candidate will support with material handling (including palletizing cartons), label scanning, pallet-jacking cargo into trailers and daily communication with Expeditors’ operations staff on expedited shipments and any issues that arise.
Major Duties and Responsibilities:
Operations:
Oversee the processes in the area of responsibility, following operational standards (OPS) and KPI expectations Improve safety, quality, delivery and cost through continuous improvement methods.Ensure a safe and secure work environment.Adhere to compliance in the facility and governmental policies at all times.Ensure Expeditors destination labels match shipping label to prevent misroutes.Use tape measurer and record dimensions and weight of cargo on on hand sheet.Ensure accurate and timely receipt of shipments into the Expeditors Transportation system.Palletizing, shrink wrapping, and labelling freight.Check the condition of the cargo in/out of the warehouse for any potential damages, and report to direct supervisor. Stage freight for consolidation and shipping.Sign necessary documents to ensure record keeping.Use of computer and scanning equipment for timely and accurate communication and data entry.Assists in physical inventories and cycle counts.Contribute to new hire operational training.Meet compliance at all times to regulations internal and external in accordance with government regulations.Network communications, timely responses to emails and requests (internal and external)Escalation of problems to Management when necessaryPromote compliance in diligently following all company policies and regulations and performing the task at hand with outstanding integrity and pride. Operate stand-up or sit-down forklift to unload/load freight into trailers, into or out of racking system or the recommended GNS lanes.Load and offload trucks in a timely manner.Use RFID technology to scan freight in or out of the facility and put away or pick from designated barcoded locations.Culture:

Strong work ethic, attention to detail, and positive attitude. Must be capable of standing and walking for extended periods, as well as ability to safely lift cartons & place onto pallets.Excellent oral and written communication skillsEffective interpersonal skills, including proven abilities to listen, comprehend, effectively communicate clearly and concisely to obtain positive results.Excellent organizational skills, time management skills in addition to a professional attitude.Must be able to read, count accurately, do simple math (add, subtract, divide, multiply) and write legibly.Additional InformationAdditional Information
